"Two Oceans Marathon Haven"

10.0

It was clean, superb location. We were very close to the start of the Two oceans Marathon and the place was very peacefull. Even though we were next to a very busy route, when the doors are closed, you wouldnt even tell.

It was hot and i couldnt understand, how the aircons worked but eventually got the living room one working.

"Very pleasant - we were pretty much there to sleep and a quick shower in the morning."

We couldn't see the entrance as there was a truck parked in front, so pulled up at the parking garage and had to phone. Then the receptionist came and opened. He was very friendly.

"Ok, but could have been better."

The location is easily accessible. The unit was beautifully done and spacious.

The charges for the property are not entirely transparent. The property was listed for R3 402 when I searched for two nights accommodation for two people, so it ranked amongst the lowest in price. However, there is fine print about R1000 taxes which you later discover is for cleaning. Cleaning costs should be included in the listing price if the host is being transparent and in all honesty the cost of cleaning one two-bedroomed when the customer checks out cannot be up to that much. Then, after you book you are immediately notified that you still need to pay R2 000 deposit. When I asked for directions, in response they were following up on the deposit. This is said to be to cover breakages, but can also be applied as a penalty for making noise. The items made available for use in the unit are old and probably fully depreciated so nothing could justify such a high breakage deposit. It felt like the unit costs double the listed price so I felt the way the property is listed is misleading. The apartment is right next to busy roads so it can be quite a bit noisy. Check-out time is communicated as 10:00 but by 09:45 they called to say the cleaner is already coming up to clean the unit. We had to leave in a rush. I was not pleased with the way customers are treated. The staff need to be more polite and friendly.
