KC Studio 4 at Horizon 101 Cebu

We stayed at KC Studio 4 for four days. Location-wise, it was very good — right in the heart of Cebu, close to almost everything, with the added convenience of a 7/11 just outside the building. However, while the location was great, the room itself was disappointing. We rented two units, and both had issues. The blankets, pillowcases, and sheets were not properly cleaned and smelled unpleasant. When we raised the concern, the caretaker mentioned it might have been due to the rain the day before, but it didn’t smell like rain — it smelled used. They did replace the pillowcases afterwards, which helped a bit. The bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned either and had cockroaches. In the second unit, there were many ants on the floor, and the bed caused us some itchiness, leading to scratching throughout the night. I really hope they improve the cleanliness, as the place has a lot of potential with its convenient location and easy access to everything.

The cleanliness is way under the standard of the Philippines. There are plenty of dirty and stained surfaces. The strong smell of amonia from the AC also signals that deep cleaning is long overdue.

One could argue that a plus would be the central location. The room did have a window with an OK view.

The room I got was not the one shown in the Booking.com images. Everything could have been better. Needed to phone host or get the reception desk to get in. Lots going on in the reception area, very busy with lack of seating. Always a queue for the lifts going up from reception. Slapdash approach to accommodation letting. No real customer/host interaction Needed to pay in cash, problem as at the time I had no cash, crazy in this day and age. I wonder why cash only! The building although relatively new is deteriorating rapidly, huge amounts of foot traffic people coming and going all the time. Very busy place Cockroaches in room. Noisy corridors people singing and talking loudly. Rush hours traffic outside the building can be quite intimidating.

The view and location!

Bathroom shower head rusty, the bed not comfortable , no blanket , towels old and the kitchen utensils some are rusty. Also the elevator smell rotten egg.

Cheap the lady who manages was very responsive

You get what you pay for. A little dated inside but good value.
