The room was okay and clean

I am very disappointed with my experience at this homestay. I paid RM158 for the room and was also required to pay a RM150 deposit, with the promise that it would be refunded after 7 days. However, after the 7 days, I only received RM7 back. The host deducted RM88 for a so-called “late check-in” at 12:58am and RM55 for “late checkout” at 11:01am. This is extremely unreasonable, especially since: • There was no clear communication or policy stating that checking in at 12:58am would incur a penalty, especially when many travelers arrive late due to transport schedules. • Check-out time was 11:00am, and I left at 11:01am — just 1 minute late — which does not justify a RM55 deduction. This feels very unfair and misleading. I was not informed about such strict charges in advance, and no courtesy reminder or grace period was given. I feel like this was an excuse to unjustly keep most of my deposit. I hope this feedback helps future guests be aware and encourages the host or platform to improve transparency and fairness in their booking terms.
