Cosy Spring Cottage at Pen Y Coed Hall

There was a really generous breakfast supplied that was more than I needed for the weekend.

Upon entering the property, the smell of damp hit us straight away. There are electric dehumidifiers / air filters in both the lounge & bedroom, but in our opinion, this shouldn’t be a holiday let. The conditions are almost unsanitary, there is black mold throughout, it smells awful & it needs a very good clean. The shower or something in the bathroom, leaks so best to leave your shoes on in the bedroom as the carpet is soaking. The property doesn’t get warm, the ceilings are extremely high so would benefit from a new / better heating system along with curtains / furnishing to try & retain some heat. We had the oven & hob on, just to get the temperature on the thermostat up a bit. Careful you don’t fall into the toilet, as the seat has not been fitted correctly. The tap in the kitchen turns on both ways & sockets in the lounge don’t work. The property has ‘accident waiting to happen’ all over it, very unsure of all the other positive reviews. The owners wanted £20 upon arrival for the extra cleaning for my dog, I did not pay this. I would have happily paid it if it was going to go towards contractors to sort the damp out, but a dog that had just been bathed, doesn’t malt & was cleaner than the property? I don’t think so.

I didn’t actually stay in the cottage as it was “double booked”. I stayed in the Bala Suite in the main house. Very comfortable and roomy. Plenty of breakfast choice as others have mentioned. I would stay here again if in the area.

Nothing at all. Hosts were very welcoming and chatty.

Had everything you needed but could do with a small vacuum left inside was a cosy quiet place for a short break away and nice location to visit

Just didn't like the drive way to cottage pretty bad for salon vehicle to drive down be good if had a 4x4 vehicle
