The Riddoch Apartment by The National Trust Scotland

Excellent location, historic building, entry in a courtyard with a pub and the Writer’s Museum, nicely decorated. The kitchen was very nice.

It was a little chilly and the heat only turns up to 19c. The stairs are a little tricky but so authentic. The living space was small but that made it feel authentic. The blind with the view to the courtyard was broken and didn’t open so that was a bummer.

There are 57 stairs getting to the apartment and they are very narrow and winding. If you can’t do the stairs with your luggage you should not stay here.

Location is excellent in the heart of Old Town.

The mattress is due to be replaced. It wasn't awful; but should definetly be replaced soon.

This quaint little apartment is right in the middle of everything in the Royal Mile and Old Town. The location is just outstanding! It's right next to two cute cafes. It had all the facilities we needed and a comfortable bed.

Just be aware there are winding stairs to get to the apartment. We didn't mind a bit.

Great location, clean, warm, and comfortable. The kitchen needed a few more essentials for a fleeting stay. There was no salt or condiments available, it was not worth buying these items for a short stay and there are no convenient shops. A few little extras would have made this a perfect stay.

Lovely updated apartment in a historic building along the Royal Mile. So much to see, eat and do in the area.

There is no elevator and going up and down the narrow staircase with luggage was scary and difficult,

I have wanted to stay here for years and finally decided to splurge for a weekend stay to celebrate my birthday. The location could not have been more perfect and the flat has so much character. It was surprisingly modern inside but still with lots of historical charm - winding up and down the spiral staircase was only annoying when toting our luggage, otherwise was pretty magical. The communication was super easy and would definitely recommend a stay here.

You can find cheaper places to stay for sure and we were unable to drop our luggage early which meant we had to pay extra to leave our suitcases elsewhere. All in all, the pros far outweigh these minor cons.
