JOIVY Loft at the Brewery with Free Parking

Location is very good, spacious, car parking, very clean, well equipped.

It was expensive but it was during fringe so I suppose to be expected. TV reception can be a bit patchy. Couple of issues while we were there but were dealt with promptly. Collecting the key from the train station is bit of a pain would rather have lock box.

Really good location. Go up the close next to the building, and you are on "the mile". The apartment was a bit worn but very cozy, with a gas fireplace for "hygge" and warmth in the evening. Plenty of room.

Cold on arrival, the storage heaters seemed depleted of charge and didn't provide any heat the first evening. Note that there is only one double duvet to share on the double bed.

BEWARE - UNRECOMMENDED!!! We arrived at the property, no one was there, no keys available and no-one to contact. We had to find alternative accommodation which took us 3 hours and was expensive. The outside was rundown, dirty and in great need of repair. Another couple turned up at the same time and had the same issue, Very disappointed, spoilt our 2 days in Scotland and they kept our money.

The location was great and it was comfortable and had a friendly feeling. We liked the décor, the squishy sofa and chair and the high ceilings. The problems we found didn't spoil our stay.

We had trouble handing the keys back to the left luggage desk in the station as instructed as they did not recognise the keys so we had to hang around for it to get sorted. We had a smoke alarm beeping all night even though the need for a new battery had been reported before we arrived. We had trouble getting the streaming services to work and the batteries in the remote control were dead. The smaller bedroom had a door which was very stiff to slide open if it was shut and two of our party got a bit stuck.
