Old Town Centre Apartment 5 mins to Edinburgh Castle

Friendly staff and amazing italian dinner, and the best dog ever!

Scrivo io la recensione per mio marito. Ci è piaciuta la posizione a pochi passi dal centro e dai supermarket, la doppia camera, il bagno diviso dalla doccia, la cucina spaziosa.

Le due rampe di scale ripide con gradini alti non dichiarate nella descrizione. Se l'avessi letto, non l'avrei scelto. L'ho detto ai proprietari ma mi hanno risposto che anche a Roma ci sono case antiche senza ascensore, senza considerare che qui parliamo di ospitalità, non stiamo parlando dei monumenti. Io a Roma l'ascensore negli appartamenti dove sono stata l'ho sempre trovato. Ci ho abitato per un anno, conosco la città! Ma poi chi viene ospitato deve sapere se ci sono le scale o no, senza doversi leggere tutte le recensioni! Noi avevamo bagagli per 10 giorni che mio marito si è dovuto portare su e giù! Mi meraviglio che booking non lo renda obbligatorio. Il palazzo e l'androne si presentano davvero male con chiazze di sangue per terra, vicino alle scale, e sul muro, oltre che pattume (cartacce e bottiglie) lasciato da chi ha bivaccato all'interno. Ci ha fatto proprio una brutta impressione quando siamo arrivati.. Abbiamo chiesto ai proprietari di far pulire, ma non l'hanno fatto. È stato mio marito a buttare le cartacce! Inoltre, le lenzuola presentavano macchie di varichina. Insomma, di sicuro non ci tornerei, anche se l'appartamento al suo interno era abbastanza in ordine. Per il prezzo pagato c'è di molto meglio.

La cama de matrimonio es pequeña e incómoda. Las almohadas eran durísimas. La cocina estaba equipada bajo mínimos. La escalera y la entrada eran muy miserables

The property was located very centrally and within walking distance to all the wonderful attractions Edinburgh Old Town has to offer. The Apartment was extremely clean, provided essentials required for our short stay and also had some lovely little touches added in. Supermarkets were close by which was an added bonus. We had enough towels and toiletries supplied for our family of four. Communication from the owner was fabulous and the rules and expectations of the property mentioned beforehand were beneficial. We really had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to return again.

Ev çok merkezi bir yerde. Hemen köşede geç saatlere kadar açık market bulabiliyorsunuz. Her yere yürüme mesafesinde. Büyüklüğü iyi.

Otel hasar teminatı 200 GBP para talep ediyor. Bu ödeme yurtdışından gelenler için büyük sorun. Bizde bu ödemeyi banka yoluyla göndermek oldukça zor. Paypal de zaten Türkiyede olmadığı için böyle bir ödemeyi yapmak bizim için sorun oldu. Halbuki bu ödeme için Booking aracılık etmiyorsa nakit ya da kredi kartı yoluyla bir sistem kullanılmalı. Beni çok uğraştırdı. İngilterede yaşayan bir arkadaşımızdan rica etmek zorunda kaldık. Yoksa son dakika eve giremeyecektik. Üstelik otelin ödemesini önceden yapmamıza rağmen. Hoş bir deneyim olmadı. Anahtar kutusunu da açmayı beceremedik. Kutu sıkıntılıydı. Zor açtık. Tamir görmesi şart. Oda kapısı içeriden ayrıca kilitlenmediği için insanı gece huzursuz ediyor. İlave bir kilit şart. Oda temizliği kesinlikle yeterli değil. Yatak kenarı ve altı tozluydu. Pek rahat hissetmedik. Oda merkezi bir yerde olduğundan gürültülü.

Excelente ubicación y muy limpio

The location is excellent. The Royal Mile is a 5 minute walk, Chambers St is 2 minutes and Mother India Cafe is 3 minutes - what more do you need?😀(I recommend Mother India's Cafe unreservedly!) I know Edinburgh well, so parking was no problem, but if you don't know the area try Viewcraig Gardens Car Park. After dinner we walked to the Castle and then down the Royal Mile stopping at St Giles Cathedral, taking photographs of the courtyards and closes as well as stopping at bars and street entertainers. We are all old people and we walked slowly towards the castle via Cowgate and Grassmarket, but from the castle, it was all easy going. We all slept very well in the excellent beds of the apartment. There were plenty of places for breakfast within a 5 minute walk the next morning. A £200 deposit is required prior to arrival and I had some difficulty arranging this because of a mismatch of names on the account. However, a quick phone call to the owner solved the problem and reassured me that all was well. On leaving the apartment, my deposit was returned immediately - it was in my bank before I had left Edinburgh which was impressive.

First impressions are disappointing because the City of Edinburgh positions garbage bins in inappropriate places. The door and the stairs to the apartment are dull and the stairs are quite steep, but do not be put off as the flat is comfortable, quiet and secure. The beds are very good and we all slept well.
