JOIVY Spacious Apt in New Town Prime Location

Location very good (we would not have visited the botanical garden if we had been more central); very spacious; good storage space; kitchen very well equipped; beds very comfy (except the sofa bed); nice decoration; plenty of towels

The stairs to the flat are poorly lit, so hazardous to use in the evening; the high ceilings make the flat quite cool; no easy way to separate waste; the provided shower gel was in many small bottles, wasting packaging; the sofa bed is not comfortable

We provided our own food. The kitchen bathroom and bedrooms were clean. The furnishings were rather tired, but the kitchen was well equipped.

The entry hall stairs and landing weren’t clean. The most urgent thing needed is to replace or mend the lights in the hall and stairway. We needed to use the lights on our phones to go upstairs at night. There is a potential risk of falling.

Great location, easily walkable to Old Town sites.

Spacious

There isn’t a human to talk to, so when we ran out of toilet roll we had to go and buy our own. They charged us for the sofa bed bedding and then we had to even make it up ourselves. And also had to empty the bins and place the bin bags outside round the corner. For £1300 I expect a lot more

The views are amazing

Bit draughty and more than a short walk to attractions

Excellent location. 2 minutes walk to Stockbridge with its shops and restaurants. Easy access to walks along The Water of Leith. 15 minute walk to Royal Botanic Garden. 20 minute walk to Princess Street and the tourist attractions. Beautiful apartment and well equipped kitchen. Stayed here 2 years ago when we raised several issues, especially the cleaning. This time it was spotless.

No hot water on arrival. The boiler pressure had dropped to zero and switched off. We rang the contact number and were talked through the process to re-pressurise and switch the boiler back on. Shouldn’t this have been checked before our arrival? Could do with new pillows as those provided are very flat.
