We loved the view, the patio was beautiful, the location was great. And the view was amazing! Well stocked kitchen, nice bathroom,

There was a busy road out front the had some noise pollution

The location is superb, wonderful sea view, lovely place. Very well kitted out.

Only thing I did not like was parking. Its right on the main road through Vishoek and you have to reverse out onto the road.

We arrived at check-in time at 2.00pm after hanging around since 8am as they were not ready for us and both units that we had reserved were still being cleaned. The owner was inspecting at the time we arrived and told us the pool wasn't working, a blind in the main bedroom wasn't working, the downstairs bbq was broken, he'd be back some time to fix them. I said leave the blind as we wanted a holiday not to have work done during our visit. Owner returned a few times throughout our stay to fix things, which could be avoided if they left more time between people checking out and checking in to thoroughly inspect the property.

The property although cleaned, was not left in a clean state. Items such as blankets on beds, cushions and blankets are not washed between guests' visits. We could smell unpleasant smells and thick dust on these items, some of which I washed and others I put away in cupboards. The downstairs unit had unknown stains on their pillows which they were unhappy about. The security at these units are non-existent, not ideal for Cape Town. The main gate did not close properly the entire time we were there, which is not acceptable. We only had 1 key for the main gate between 2 units and 7 people. The pedestrian gate can be opened with a wiggle and was not a deterrent. Units had flimsy catches and plastic burglar bars, we did not feel safe in the units. Added to load shedding, this was an unpleasant experience all round. Now to load shedding. Now, this is not the fault of the owner, however, it should be the responsibility of the owner to inform us that load shedding would be an issue and the steps they took to 'load shed proof' the units. This was next to nothing. They had a box that would keep the internet on during power outages and two small strip lights that look like fly catchers and are really unpleasant. However, there were no candles even, there was a gas stove which ran out after two boiled kettles. I have since found other units, and everyone else living in Cape Town has invested in portable generators for about £150 or less. However, not the owners of these two units. We sat every evening in the dark with no TV, no cooker, the food in the fridge was affected by the on and off of the electricity. It was unacceptable for the amount of money charged for both units. Invest in some generators and candles and top up the gas in the stove before guests arrive.

Parking was tricky

Lovely open-plan space, bright and airy, beautiful view & great for entertaining. Wayne was a friendly host and very helpful.

The location just off a very busy road is tricky for parking, and is noisy with constant traffic, which is a pity given the lovely view. Unfortunately the downstairs apartment is also very close and you hear every conversation, smell the cigarette smoke etc. The shower was clogged up and overflowed, but Wayne was very helpful in sorting that out.
