Bower Apartment

Very well equipped with everything we could need, coffee supply and facilities were great!

This apartment has been really well set out and furnished. Comfortable bed, sofa, chair, dining table, and the shower is just right (except for the lack of a soap dish for us oldies that still use soap). The TV - if you want it - is set up to supply hours of watching. We did see a couple of good films in the evening. The parking right outside the door works fine and the lockbox is easy to locate and works perfectly. The walk into Harrogate is simple and there are lots of restaurants and shops right on the doorstep - a short walk. We have no hesitation in recommending this for a few nights stop. We took the bus to Ripon too to see the cathedral. Two buses an hour each way and a short walk to the bus station. Oldies please note that the bus service accepts Freedom Passes. We paid going but had a free ride back 😉

If we had to say anything that we did not cope very well with it was the kitchen. It has to be small and I struggled. Despite instructions I failed to get the induction hob to work. (We have a gas hob at home). I tried to heat soup in the microwave but couldn't see the settings and could not get the soup hot enough. We tried the coffee machine that Claire and Patrick have kindly supplied with capsules but we went back to our filter coffee we brought with us. None of this should stop you from staying here as there are endless restaurants nearby for every taste. We were disappointed to find a washing machine, but a note in the welcome file to say it is not working. We really needed some clean clothes after four weeks travelling.

The location is perfect for exploring Harrogate. Cute basement apartment with access from the rear.

There wasn't any soap in the bathroom? Maybe didn't notice the container was empty. My husband is having Radium treatment which required soap and water after anything in the bathroom. Bought some soap so no biggie. A scrubber in the kitchen or something to wash dishes with would be nice. There was a long handled scrubber but no sponges. There's about an inch step into the bathroom which is a toe hazard. A rubber lift up to the tile might be a good idea. Husband hit that in the night.

The apartment was very clean and well appointed. Excellent facilities and a very comfortable bed. It was just a short walk into the centre of Harrogate so a very convenient location.

parking was a problem to start with a vehicle parked in the allocated space that did not belong to the garage.

Nice decor, fixtures and fittings. Tastefully put together and well equipped.

Parking area was challenging because of others parking very close to the property.

The apartment was lovely! It had everything that you could need for a short stay - little thoughtful extras like shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom, coffee pods and tea in the kitchen. We couldn't fault it at all.

I wasn't keen on the location behind a car garage. It fely a bit sketchy and my daughter and I were a little uncomfortable returning there at night.
