The Open Door in Jefferson NY

Clean room. Clean amenities. The host tried hard provided a stocked fridge for breakfast items milk eggs cereal waffles coffee etc. We did have to cook our own breakfast but that was perfectly fine.

Nothing really except the water smells of sulfur. Not the properties fault it’s the area.

They had self-serve breakfast that we didn't stay for because there were lots of other options in the area. Although it was a little confusing where to enter, the host made us feel very welcome once we made contact.

I would have liked it to be more clear what was available to guests. I wasn't sure if the food that was in the fridge was provided by the host or belonged to another guest.

Location

Too rustic.

Great location for the venue of the wedding we are there for; room is spacious and bed is comfortable.

We can hear all the noise of TV and talking, understand we are at someone’s house but it could be less noisy, especially we were trying to not make any noise. Also the ceiling of bathroom within the room is quite low, you can barely standing.

Eggs and milk were always available; the guests brought their own food ;did their own cooking and cleaning up after breakfast. Always had access to coffee, refrigerator and kitchen. The hosts are exceptionally kind and accomodating; generous and helpful; and afforded the guests full privacy. The other guests were friendly, thoughtful, and neat, very pleasant..

The rooms had but one window which was filled by an old noisy airconditioner...so no fresh air at all; or a very noisy fan from the window unit. A free standing fan was provided but did not solve issue of fresh air. The towels were aplenty however very thin and old.
