Montague House Apartments

Perfect location with plenty of choice for eating, drinking, sightseeing and shopping in the immediate area, and a short walk to the pier. The apartment was on the first floor and had a partial sea view. Good value for money. Met the owner who was very nice and helpful.

The property is a typical Victorian/ Edwardian type and is a bit dated. It has a narrow entrance and stairwell and is a bit awkward when carrying luggage. But fine for a short stay. The windows could do with a clean though!

I always stay here. Any problems always resolved very quickly however the showers are a bit of a pain in regarding the slow water flow. Just have to keep an eye on the overflow other matter. Everything is always good.

Liked the place was close to the town centre, walking distance to any of the shops and bars.

The apartment smelt musty when we first got in to the apartment. In the kitchen, I had to rewash the cutlery, the mug and glasses as they were dirty with food remnant on the forks and worktop seemed to be sticky. There was only one mug and one decent glass considering it was for a couple staying. Shower overflowed on to the floor of the shower room, had to message the owner who did explain what I needed to do whilst showering to prevent it from happening again. The toilet and shower room was quite small, felt very claustrophobic with no window and the fan was thick with dust / muck so dont think it worked. Had a decent night sleep in the comfy bed tho.

The location was perfect and apart from the bin men in the morning it was a quiet location considering how close it was to the centre

The shower flooded and the bathroom as a whole needed a good clean The sheets weren't the cleanest either
