B02 - Sandy Beach Apartment

Location was great

We informed them of our late arrival (around midnight)and were informed that someone would meet us there. After our arrival at Faro airport they telephoned us to say we would not be met at the apartment but the key would be left under the mat. We arrived at the apartment to find a gate with an entry system which we did not have the code for. We telephoned them and found that the person who answered did not speak English. Thank God for the dog walkers who came along after about 20mins we were so relieved they spoke Portuguese and sorted the problem.

Good location, terrace equipped with barbecue, table and chairs for an outdoor breakfast and direct access to the pool.

Always clean and well presented.

I booked this apartment last-minute for a one-night stay after my flight. Shortly after booking, I received a message stating that check-in was only available between 4-6 PM (or 7 PM, I can’t recall exactly) and that late check-in would incur a fine. Wanting to avoid any issues, we adjusted our plans and arrived at 4 PM—only to find all the gates locked. I tried calling the number provided multiple times, but no one answered. When I sent a message saying we were waiting, I was told to call the office—only to get no response again. After multiple attempts, I finally reached a lovely and helpful lady who gave us the gate passcode and said the apartment keys should be under the mat. Of course, there were no keys! She apologized and said someone would bring them soon, suggesting we go for a walk while we waited. So, with all our luggage, we had no choice but to wander around until the keys arrived. Once we finally got into the apartment, it was spacious and clean but quite worn down. After a long and exhausting day, all I wanted was a hot shower—only to find that there was no hot water. I tried waiting, turning on the heating, and checking everything, but nothing worked. The apartment remained cold, making our stay very uncomfortable. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. While the staff member on the phone was kind and apologetic, the check-in process was unorganized, and the lack of hot water made it even worse. Would not stay here again.
