Arles Historical Homestead

Lovely quiet location. Very comfortable beds. Plenty of room. Friendly host. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Dealing with the hosts was VERY easy, and they couldnt have been more accommodating. The grounds and the apartment premise were very tidy and well kept, with almost everything we could have wanted :) Being located a bit further out of town, and back from the road was great as the 'noise' was definitely less. Had a number of conversations with Graeme over the few days we were there, which were all great and also informative about the area and the Homestead.

Trivial items.... Would have been great to have had an aircon/heat pump. There were heaters which did a good job on the chilly nights. A larger oven - the bench top oven did a good job, but was limited in what we could cook at one time which just made it a bit more challenging when feeding a few adults for dinner Apart from these small items which are preferential more than dislikes, there was nothing else we needed for our extended weekend stay.

Lovely, warm and comfortable apartment. Really pleased we stayed and wish it could have been longer.

⸻ Rating: 😠 (Very disappointed) Review: We stayed one night at Arles Historical Homestead and were very unsettled by the experience. When we returned late in the evening, we noticed that lights had been turned on, our bags had clearly been tampered with, my suitcase was unzipped, and our personal items — including my underwear — had been rifled through. Windows were left open and items in the fridge had been moved. This felt incredibly invasive and unsafe. The towels left out for us were damp and smelled strongly of wet dog — we had to air them out in the sun just to use them. The apartment itself was unclean, so I used some of the host’s products from the laundry to tidy it up. After we left, the host phoned us accusing us of things we absolutely did not do — smoking in the room (neither of us smoke), damaging bedding, and stealing shampoo. These accusations were false, offensive, and entirely uncalled for. The space is cold, overpriced, and not what we expected from the listing. The host was intrusive and inappropriate — we were watched, snooped on, and treated with suspicion. This is not a safe or welcoming place for women or any travellers. Very disappointing.

A single night stay in mid July. Great old homestead close to town. Bed was great. Lighting excellent for reading in lounge and bed room. A place to visit late spring and summer with all the flowers. Definitely a warmer micro climate there as it was quite warm outside in morning on a dull overcast.

No real complaints because of the season. Not the warmest in Winter but panel heaters coped along with electric blankets
