GBThe views are stunning!! The place is secluded and private, itâs feels like a hidden treasure!! Itâs a really special place, with the local wildlife visiting from time to time. The host, Tricia is very welcoming and so friendly.
GBThe view was amazing. Tricia is lovely. I loved the quirky garden ornaments. Loved sitting in the hot tub watching the lights on the other side of the valley come on as the sun went down. Some nice touches, like fresh milk and muffins and scones with cream and jam. The evenings became a wildlife safari, with deer coming into the garden and bats flying overhead. Great location for touring the area, we enjoyed the seafood at the local pub (Anchor Inn 4 min walk down the hill but 10 mins back up!), More excellent seafood at Brixham harbour, Excellent lunch at Riverford Organics Buckfastleigh
The double bed was a little small foe my husband, but that's his fault for being six and a half foot tall !!! ;-)
GBWe loved everything about this place. An excellent place to unwind, the location was perfect, the accomodation was clean and tidy and the hot tub was ideal. Tricia goes above and beyond to make her guests welcome, a wonderful host. We will definitely be going back.

GBGBTricia is very welcoming. The golf buggy is hilarious. The bed is comfy. The view is amazing, sitting in the hot tub watching the sun rise over the estuary and in the evening the lights twinkling on the water and the toy trains going past the harbour. The garden sculptures and folly made us giggle.
A sieve or colander would be helpful. The fob to open the gates at the bottom of the drive is on the golf buggy key ring. Do check that it works before Tricia goes out.

DEViolet Mays Retreat is very private with awesome views, even in December! Tricia is lovely and always around if needed. The welcome pack of milk, scones, muffins, cookies and fresh eggs was a lovely thought. The golf buggy was an excellent idea for getting from the car to the home. The train station is about a 20 minute walk which was a great way to get into Exeter when we didnât want to use the car and only took 8 minutes. It was a short walk to the nearest pub, which is defo worth a visit.
The only downside was the bed being small.
