Beautiful apartment, with everything you need, a home from home. Lovely touches, like milk, wine, and some goodies, which are a welcome surprise when you get in on the later ferry. Close to town, a stones throw from the ferry, and a 20 minute drive to explore the beautiful beaches on the east of the Island.

The apartment was lovely. It was in a very handy place, just a short walk from the centre of Stornoway and had its own parking. Inside, the kitchen was well equipped, and we found everything we needed. The water was hot for baths and showers, and the bed was comfortable, with enough bedroom storage space for our clothes. The lounge was a nice space too - we enjoyed eating at the table in the window there.

This apartment is newly and stylishly renovated, spacious and very clean. The bathroom was light and airy, spacious and has a great shower. The kitchen was well-equipped with teas, coffee, some biscuits and oatmeal, and even a fresh little jug of milk for tea waiting in the fridge. The bed is king size with comfy feather pillows and duvet...we slept wonderfully. It's also very quiet and along a well-known street with gorgeous gated homes. It took about 10 minutes to walk into town for shops, cafes and restaurants, churches, Lews Castle, etc. We liked being away from the center but within easy walking distance. The host also left a nice card welcoming us, with an image of the Callanish Stones on the front...a coffee table book, artwork and guide books also centered around Lewis sites. Very thoughtfully put together place.

We were confused to arrive to a faded lavender-ish colored house with an unkempt garden and entryway, as the photo had shown a beautiful red house and mentioned nice grounds. We weren't sure we were in the right place and almost left, until we pushed the shared exterior door inward (in the US you pull doors out, so we thought it was locked). Someone in the facing unit explained which unit we were looking for and the key box. All was well then. We never met the host but did meet the sweet cleaning lady as we checked out.

The apartment was a little bit cold.

Outstanding. Beautifully furnished throughout, with some lovely finishing touches, lovely lamps, lovely cushions, interesting pictures and maps. A real home feel about the whole apartment.

Absolutely nothing to dislike. Great location.
