This apartment is in a rather run-down location, but the flat itself is clean and adequately equipped for a short stay. The view is amazing. It is an easy walk to some of the main sights and to some good fish restaurants.

The bed is rather hard and the bedding could be improved. Egyptian cotton is supposed to be the best! The area is very noisy, with a fun fair in the road below and of course next to a mosque you will be woken by a 5am call to prayer. But in all fairness that is probably the same of most of Alexandria.

Location was excellent - beautiful view overlooking the Mediterranean. The apartment itself has everything you need for a lovely stay. There's not much to do around the area itself - but the walk along the Corniche to the more exciting places is a joy. Nobody bothers you - it's a very pleasant walk watching the locals enjoy their downtime. Maybe a 30-minute walk - you can stop for a tea along the way. The owner met me on arrival and showed me around the apartment - very convenient. All in all, it's great value for money. There's also a shop nearby which sells "Western" stuff if you want to cook at home.

Het appartement is op de laatste verdieping en heeft een prachtige uitzicht met seaview en grote moskee. Je kan daar uren zitten en raakt nooit uitgekeken. Wij hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf en alle nodige faciliteiten zoals een wasmachine en keukenspullen zijn aanwezig. In de buurt heb je ook vele winkels op loopafstand. Ideaal om een paar dagen te relaxen. Zoek niet verder en je kan hier gerust verblijven.

We had a great stay here. You wouldn't expect to find a modern, renovated apartment like this in this building but it had everything we needed. The view is obviously the standout feature. The view of the ocean and the mosque are incredible. Inside, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, there was laundry and a few kitchen items (though not many) and lots of seating area. The staff were also lovely. Mohamed was very kind and waited for us as our bus from Cairo too forever to arrive in Alexandria (just arrange and In Drive or Uber, the bus savings aren't worth it for the hassle). He showed us the apartment, where to leave the keys and was just a friendly guy in general. The location is fairly convenient for reaching any of the sites by Uber, you wouldn't want to walk unless you want to have a very long day.

I do see what people were saying about the scary elevators. I don't disagree that they are an adjustment with no safety door, but I'd say that we saw worse during our time in Egypt. My partner found it fairly scary but it didn't really bother me at all. Despite the location being fairly central, again, I would agree with some comments that the neighbourhood is not the most inviting. We were advised by one of our guides and one of our drivers to not be out at night there. We never felt unsafe, but it for sure seems a bit more local than tourists would normally see. Despite these, they would not stop me from staying here. We had an excellent stay and I would for sure stay here again if back in Alexandria - though that will probably be a one and done trip.
