Cozy Guest Suite in Quiet Home with Private Entry

The host greeted me with the keys and walked me through the ins and out of the space. There was coffee ready for the next morning and a kettle which made it super comforting and convenient. The space was clean and decorated nicely as well as the area surrounding it is FANTASTIC ! Great restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping is just around the corner. This was a smooth experience from end-to-end.

no TV, no radio, small rooms me a room in their home because they felt that they double booked it. hi was thankful, had a shower and was out like a light ( I had not slept in over 36 hours) a few minutes later, he burst into my room, turned on the lights and shouted to get up and get out of his house. I said if there is a problem, just charge me an extra night. He said no, get out of my house, so he threw me out at 3:00 AM in a big city, and I found a restaurant to wait for my family to get up and meet me at 8 AM to go rent a car. hi came back at 3:00PM so he would let me in the suite. NO HOSPITALITY!

The suite was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Tea and coffee provided. Full cooker (electric oven / grill & 4 ring hob), fridge, microwave, trays, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery all provided, except no bread knife - There should be one there for the next person as I bought a cheap one and left it there. Even salt and pepper, and ali-foil to line trays, washing up liquid, bathroom soap & shampoo all provided. There was no spare loo paper, but I just had to ask, and they topped up tea-bags and tissues. I never saw the owners, but communicated via Booking.com message ap.

I had not appreciated that it is a basement suite, down a small flight of steps. - No problem for me or my bike, but it could be for some. There is another basement suite next door, seemingly with permanent residents. The walls are thin and uninsulated, and every morning except the weekend, I was awoken around 5:00am by the couple chatting, and then two shots of the coffee grinder around 5:30 / 5:45am each day would reverberate through the whole building! Strangely I did not notice their presence much at other times, but the word 'quiet' in the description needs to be taken advisedly.* One other minor thing: There was no shelf or hook in the shower for sponges, back scrubbers, etc. I say 'was' because I bought a hook and fitted it next to the shower door so that my back-scrubber had a place other than the floor. I hope they leave it in situ.
