Guesthouse Pekkala

We are 3 days in Rovaniemi and we stayed at Pekkala guesthouse, the house was perfectly clean and Mr. Eija with her husband very good people and hosts. I recommend it to everyone, it's worth it.

We were travelling with 3 years old kid. its impossible to take tour to see nothern lights with a small child and if we stayed in the center of Rovaniemi we have to go shopping mall because outside is cold and not fun for child. So we decided to stay in this hotel. facilities big inside and outside. they provide sleds and there is a hill you can slide. also there is swing. we played a lot with snow and ice in the garden. also we get chance to see nothern lights from the garden. when we land it was snow storm but still it was easy to find the hotel. roads was cleannig all the time. the owners are really kind thoughtful. they gave some toys for our kid. it was a living room and small kitchen for eveybodys use, filter coffe maker, microwave oven, kettle, some teas, instant and filter coffee. if you need something they just provide. there is so nice barbecue place outside also it was really nice after play in the snow and ice outside and right after get sauna. sauna and shower have door also toilet have seperate door. and all of them have together door. we were using swimsuits when using sauna. not neccessary to lock the main door and people could use toilet. also there is a washing machine and a tumbler drier with washing powder. in the shower some shampoo even conditioner and hair dryer. in the room we get towels. room was also so big and hot. its really unique place with unique owners.

The location was wonderful, especially if you want to see the northern lights. The family is very welcoming and helpful. Since it was -30 at night and our car battery ran out, the family allowed us to stay here longer. The hostess brought local flat bread and the host helped with charging the battery. Thank you :)

I recently stayed at a quaint hotel located in the serene countryside, just 50 km from Santa Claus Village. The room I booked was small but cozy, featuring two single beds and a comfortable sofa, perfect for a restful overnight stay. The highlight of my experience was the owner, who was exceptionally pleasant and friendly, making me feel welcomed throughout my visit. The hotel offers shared toilets and showers, which were clean and well-maintained, ensuring a pleasant experience despite the shared facilities. One notable aspect was how warm and inviting the room was, a perfect retreat from the chilly countryside air. The entire place was tidy, contributing to a comforting atmosphere. While the room may be compact, it was more than sufficient for a night’s stay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for those looking for a budget-friendly option with lovely hospitality in a peaceful setting.
