Nothing. We were not given the apartment we booked (a “deluxe double studio”) and the management company, Heimaleiga, was unable to put us in the proper apartment or find a suitable replacement property. Instead we slept in a smelly basement apartment.

What we booked: a light-filled ground floor apartment with a large living room, kitchen, and shower. What we got: a small, smelly basement studio apartment with no shower (just a large tub with a hand shower that sprayed water everywhere), signs of water damage and possible mold, and a tiny efficiency kitchen. You can hear noise from the unit upstairs and the apartment is right on the street, so you’ll also hear plenty of traffic and passers-by. The management company. Heimaleiga, acknowledged that we were not in the right apartment, but was unable to put us in the proper apartment or find a suitable replacement property. There solution to the issue was to offer us complimentary late checkout, but we didn’t want to stay in that smelly basement a minute longer than we had to.

The apartment is cozy, clean and comfortable, Hosts are absolutely responsive. You can find in the apartment all you need. The location is really good; there are lots of restaurants and cafes in the area. Bus stop 9 (to be picked up for tours and for airport) is 3 minutes walk.

Great location in the heart of Reykjavik! The studio was clean, well-organized, and had everything we needed to wrap up our Iceland trip. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free.

The studio flat was located in the basement, which we didn't expect..we thought we’d be staying in the unit uphill, behind the main building, but thats Okey. There was a noticeable smell from the drainage system, likely due to the basement location. It was also quite hot inside, and opening the windows wasn’t really an option because they face a busy main road, bringing in noise and street smell.

We felt we were misled as regards to the apartment. The apartment we were placed in was not what was advertised.. See the photo supplied by the company .Not only was the photo was misleading in your presentation by booking confirmation. There was no real shower as specified in the offer. It was a bathtub with a hand held sprinkler-like- device.This could not be used as a shower due to the fact that there was no way to contain water from spreading throughout the bathroom, when I used this device once. The toilet offered no privacy. It has a see through glass sliding door which is absolutely ridiculous (where is privacy?!) Cooking was a challenge, because from two fry pans that were supplied, only one fitted the cooktop the second one can't be used on this cooktop at all (too big). There was no oven provided) as specified. Provided only 1 tea towel (for 9 days stay). There is no instructions for usage of the tv set and we couldn't operate it, with the remote control or otherwise.

Fabulous stay. Lovely property and much bigger than expected. Also lots of little extras like coffee, condiments , washing powder, conditioner ,… etc which was unexpected but super helpful for an easy stay with everything we needed . Really great area, lively and easy to get around. We walked everywhere with a 3 year old and would love to return in the summer months :)
