Oppihoek

Friendly welcome by the owner. Lovely little kitchenette in the room with coffee, tea, fresh milk, rusks, muffins, yoghurt and muesli.

I never used the facilities. At the time of doing the booking on the app, I got a message say I the room was not available. I then moved on and booked at Res n Rus in Harrismith. This booking was finalized and I got a reservation number. I only realised afterwards that Booking.com had actually charged my credit card for Oppihoek for the same night. No one phoned to find out why I had not pitched at Oppihoek - even though they had charged me. The experienced was traumatic. If Oppihoek or Booking.com can show goodwill, I would request that they refund me for Oppihoek booking because I handed up paying for two accomodations for same night, because of an erroneous booking on the system. This was a system glitch on their side.

Breakfast was provided. We didn't have breakfast, but it was our choice. We had to leave early to run a 30km mountain trail run.

The welcoming was warn on Friday. The parting on Saturday was distasteful and unpleasing. We agreed with the owner to bath after the race on Saturday. (i can provide an email he sent as evidence). We came immediately after the race, (we didn't even waste 5 minutes after finishing the race), we found our bags (belongings) locked outside the room. He took the keys and asked us to leave because he said he was expecting the next visitors and we can no longer bath. We drove three hours back to home without a bath, after running for 6 hours. The least he could have done was charge us for bathing.

The most welcoming owner, his wife and dog. Homebake treats for coffee on arrival and breakfast snacks to see you off in the morning.The exceptional cleanlines of the well equipped very homely apartment. This is an unexpected small gem that we will definitely visit again.

Very comfortable and excellent service from the host. Loved the breakfast treats and beverages. Highly recommend this sleep over accommodation.

Warm friendly hosts, lots of special unexpected things like the battery light, the gas stove with a kettle for the load-shedding, the breakfast snacks provided, especially the homemade muffins and rusks

The pathway from the parking to the room was a little rough for the wheelchair, but was fine as we only needed to navigate it once there and back.
