Upstairs was OK, it was quiet and central. The nearby bakery was exceptional. The owner Doug responded quickly to emails and had the boiler repaired the same day a fault occurred so thank you Doug. Close to the train station, town centre and beach so a good choice if travelling by train and on a tight budget.

Vehicular access was poor, as were first impressions. The property inside and out looked tired and disappointing but to be fair it wouldn't take much to cheer it up. The area in general appeared in need of significant investment though that's not the owner's fault. Also, overnight car parking was pot luck and 100m or so distant. We have a nice car that was difficult to get into the courtyard due to restricted width and other cars parked on the street. We really didn't want to risk scratching the car. With 3 smaller (& much older) cars in the courtyard there wasn't room for a 4th anyway.
