Cabins @ The View

We stayed in the cozy cedar cabin with a beautiful view over the city and beyond. At first impression, the land was very green and well maintained, the wildlife seemed comfortable going about their lives, and the signage was clear enough to find our way. There is a carport attached to the cabin which keeps a single car safe from the weather. The shutters and curtains kept the cabin nice and dark which is great for light-sensitive sleepers. The bed was a super king with a single beside it and the place was clean, including the fireplace in the corner. The two lounge chairs were very comfortable. The bathroom has an extra wide shower and has been very nicely renovated with plenty of natural light coming from the large window overlooking the spa and the view. We had the pleasure of watching a storm roll in over the city towards us from the balcony spa which was absolutely incredible. In the main area, there is a very big air con which works extremely well. The kitchen has everything you need for a short term stay including a gas stove, bench top oven, utensils and a good size fridge/freezer. There is mobile reception but no wifi - which is not a bad thing - and the tv is on a wall-mounted arm which can swing around so you can watch from the bed, chairs, or table. It is a lovely little place to relax and unwind.

There were no check in or check out instructions, and reception was closed both times during business hours so I had to call. There was no coffee machine, only instructions for one, and enough instant coffee packs for one per person per day. There was a plunger/french press but no ground beans to use. The spa bubbles didn't work and the pump was continuously turning on and off during the stay which was quite loud and irritating, even though we had turned it off. There was an attempt to look at the pump but the key had been misplaced. We ran out of gas during a shower on the first night, and had to go change the bottles over in the dark in a spot that was difficult to get to. The bbq gas was also low and there were no paper towels to clean it. The clearance for the carport is extremely low and we were just able to fit, I wouldn't recommend bringing big cars or roof racks. There is no convenience store at reception as advertised either. All the cutlery, crockery, and cookware seems like it's come straight from an op shop and is chipped, which is okay but definitely not what I was expecting for the price. We needed some disinfectant to clean up spills but there wasn't any, and only a single chux cloth (which seemed to have been used and washed) to wash up with for four nights. The towels were also scratchy and one per person is not enough when using both a spa and a shower. A second bath mat would have been useful too. The bed linen and blankets were average. The tv sound is terrible and the remote doesn't work properly, with button presses registering incorrectly and going haywire. The lights are very dull and ineffective. There were no walking tracks around the property as advertised on the website. It's a nice place to stay but definitely not worth the price as it is now.

Beautiful location

It wasn't very clean I. Particular the cooking utilities also spa didn't work and there was no WiFi as advertised they did try to fix spa but it didn't work out. I was aware they are new owners but a bit disappointed

The balcony door didnt lock. The wifi password wasnt provided. Stereo usb and bluetooth functions didnt work

The view

When first arrived was made to stop on a hill climb my car did not handle that and when I booked did not say what villas name was confused then had to do a hill start

The Spa on the deck overlooking the valley was fantastic, it was on, hot and bubbling, ready for our arrival. Had a white Christmas party (clouds rolled in and covered the mountain.)
