Great place

This was a fabulous property for our family which included 4 kids ages 10,7,5, & 2. We are so grateful that everything is so close and the room was beautiful, clean, and wonderful.

The lodge location is great. The ski storage room is great. They heat your boots overnight. You change right there in a comfortable room. Leave your shoes behind. No need to lug skis and boots to your room. The gym is better than most if not all hotels. Outside pool and hot tub area is great. Towels and restrooms provided in this area. We didn’t use the indoor pool and sauna area but sure it was nice. We had a one bedroom and were very pleased with the space. Didn’t use the kitchen much but was a nice bonus. Bed was comfortable and heated floor in bathroom was a nice bonus (not sure if this is standard for all units).

Sundial lodge is the most convenient lodging to stay at in the Canyons village. It's not fancy, but it's clean and straightforward. If you are looking for convenience, this is the right place -- next to the gondola, ski school and walkable to all the Canyons village restaurants and shops.

When we tried to check in at Sundial Lodge - we were told that our reservation had been “relocated” but I was never informed by Expedia. Hotel staff and I were on phone for over 2 and half hours trying to get a relocation to Silverado resort. I have never had this issue happen before and I’ve been a member of Expdia for years. We got it resolved but it took a few hours.

Very close lift

We were very disappointed with our experience of staying in apartment C407A at the Sundial Lodge in Canyons Village near Park City. It is absolutely not good value. We were on a 5 week holiday in the USA and this was by far the most expensive accommodation and was also the poorest. To put it into perspective we stayed at some lovely 5 star luxury hotels for much less, including the Grand America hotel in Salt Lake City and the Palazzo in Las Vegas where we stayed in extremely spacious and well appointed suites. Our room in the Sundial had a partially painted ceiling in the living room/ bedroom room and in the en-suite. The half used tins of paint were even left in the wardrobe! The company’s description of this “studio style living room with a kitchenette “ on which we based our booking was grossly inaccurate. It described a “jetted tub/shower combination bath that would provide a spa like experience “ which turned out to be a walk in shower only. The “kitchenette” claimed to have “all the essentials to prepare light meals and snacks during your stay”. While it has a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator, there was not even a teaspoon, let alone any other cutlery, crockery or any kitchen utensils. Housekeeping initially said they could not provide any of this for us. Eventually they managed to russle up a few rudimentary items. The official advertising has now been slightly altered since our visit but I would still make specific enquiry about this apartment before booking. The manager, who was rather elusive, having failed to call us back as promised, did agree to reimburse us for 1 of our nights although he was initially rather dismissive of our complaints. We did receive a refund but not for the amount he had agreed to.

The Sundial Lodge had everything we needed - a full kitchen, fireplace, washer/dryer, a king bed, a whirlpool tub, ski storage including a heat warmer for boots, an amazing view, and a location that was central to everything. It was our first time at the Canyons and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay.
