Driftwood Cottage

Beautifully presented little place. Clean, filled with everything the host could pack in but also not over crowded. Tv, DVD selection, iron, towels, microwave etc..quiet and park your car 5 steps away. Beautiful little woodland area with on site amenities, pool, laindrette. Faboulous host..nothing too much trouble. We really enoyed it.

Only thing I could grumble aboiut rreally is that the main bedroom for a couple...the mattress has seen better days and needs changing but it was clean.

We just had the perfect stay at Driftwood Cottage! The Cottage is situated in St Ives Holiday Park (a John Fowler park). The location of the cottage was perfect. Right beside the Woodland Walk so perfect for my morning run! There was a good sized, grassy area right outside the cottage which was perfect for the kids to play out on, especially after making friends with the children from the next-door cottage. The fresh flowers and box of Cornish Ginger biscuits left out for us upon check-in was a really nice touch. The Host (Laurie) was fab, any questions I asked were responded to almost immediately and, after a 4am start heading from Derbyshire, the slightly earlier check-in was soooooo appreciated and one we were super grateful to Laurie for accommodating. The cottage was perfect for us, all bedrooms a good size, heating in all rooms, towel heater in the bathroom, modern decor and a real home from home feel. Key accessed from a lock-box at the property. Parking right beside the cottage. Perfect! There is an on-site pool which needs to be booked from 7pm the night before and get's booked up FAST, so be quick, but we never used this facility so can't comment! We did go to the kids Disco one night which was in the on-site bar and the kids really enjoyed that, bar prices on the high side but as you would expect from this neck of the woods. It was a very short (4/5 mins) drive to Carbis Bay Beach which was by far our favorite, it's absolutely stunning!! We parked at the Carbis Bay Hotel which had All-Day parking for £20, hired some wind-breaks and deck-chairs from the water-sports shack situated on the beach, all day hire was £3.50/each. All watersports prices from there were really reasonable, 2 hours paddle-boarding hire was £15. There is a bar/pizza bar on this beach too all very reasonably priced and the pizza looked and smelt delicious - we took picnics but definitely one to try next time!!

Very cosy and compact. Excellent location and quiet in the evenings - fantastic bus service from the holiday village into St Ives until late into the night.The bus service also covers most main destinations around this area of Cornwall and was very reasonable. The on-site shop was very handy too. Didn't use any other facilities on site but they looked very nice especially for young families The kitchen was very well equipped and lounge was comfy too.

The shower was quite small and a little tired but worked well enough. The double bed was also a little uncomfortable but that's maybe because we are used to memory foam mattress - we slept well enough as it was really peaceful.
