Bucklands - Chalet 15

Absolutely nothing, falsely advertised and spend 3 days with a disappointed and BORED 5 year old.

Everything. The whole getaway was falsely advertised, it a said in our ad and in our confirmation email that everything would be open, but instead everything was closed. Even local theme parks and everything were closed. All the owner had to say on the phone was go up the mountain and they have cows and sheep.. I'm from Wales.. I have sheep in my back garden... I didn't drive nearly 200 miles to look at sheep.

Convenient for Coast Path.

The hot water boiler did not work at all. The owner took five hours (twice!) to respond when contacted about the problem. He then told us to take the boiler cover off (exposing the inner workings and wires) to try to reboot it - which did not work. We had to carry kettles into bathroom for washes and likewise in kitchen for dishes. The owner seemed to think we had no cause for complaint because it was cheap (as off-season). He was in London so couldn’t fix the problem and offered no compensation, suggesting instead that we may like to come back another time. Most irksome was that it took him five hours to reply to messages requesting assistance (both on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning).

Second morning power went leaving us no hot water heating electric I have a baby and disabled daughter and owner still hasn’t been in contact apologised and refunded half the amount disgusting shouldnt be allowed to advise his property

accommodation was lovely. owner was quick to reply to queries lovely that you could take dogs into the clubhouse etc lady in charge of pool area was lovely! best member of staff on site! prizes on the link up bingo were good.

staff on site were rude prices of passes are different from when you call to ask the price to when u pay in reception and the receptionists are unwilling to Help. if swimming pool is at capacity it is extremely busy. you need to be there a good 15/20 mins before the session starts as the booking system is a very poor system. places are released 12 weeks in advance!!! food/ drink prices on the dear side.

Spacious, comfy chalet. Easy to access. Host very approachable and amenable. Good location and easy to find. Great for families or ideal as a bolt hole to explore the area. Clovelly not far away, lovely little historic fishing village. Small fee charged for entry to village.

No wine glasses in chalet... 😁

The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed , although my parents were a bit cold at night so maybe would bring a hot water bottle next time but it is late summer so wouldn't always be needed 😊 Such a cute chalet and excellent price . Thank you x
