Peaceful ensuite lakeside cabin 'Tench'

My husband and I stayed in Tench, it was lovely and close to the lake for fishing and wildlife watching, there was everything you needed and more in and outside the hut,Mark met us on arrival and told us everything we needed to know he came to the lake while we were fishing to see if we had everything we needed and to make sure we were ok, we are already trying to sort dates to return.

Location was fantastic, quiet and peaceful

Weak WiFi signal in the hut. I had 3 and Vodafone phones and the signal on both are poor, so having WiFi available would be helpful

Trish welcomed us very cheerful, even though it was quite late when we arrived. She explained everything in detail and very well. Provided us with information about what we can do and where we can go. For the breakfast, the rolls and croissants that were provided were delicious.

The most beautiful, well kept property. Cows upon entering, stuffing their faces on fresh food. Stunning land surroundings and just the most beautiful setting we could have asked for. Mark was fantastic upon arrival, helped with all we needed and more. Extra top ups, fresh towels, burgers bought on site! Shops just a short drive, the best Chinese (Li’s)! We fished almost everyday and caught over 15 fish. Our biggest being 14 1/2lb! Me being female thought I may have been or felt out of my comfort zone but I couldn’t have asked for a better week for me and my partner. We fed the ducks daily from our decking, watched the birds feed off the feeders they topped up when we arrived. We had the fire burning every night. Geraldine was an absolute sweetheart and visited us up on the lake. Just the most perfect setting, I couldn’t fault one single bit. Infact we will be back in no time, we loved it that much!

Beautiful setting, booked last minute purely due to the fishing facilities for my husband who is a novice, we had 2 small dogs which the owners (brother and sister...so sorry I've forgotten your names??) were happy for us to bring. Gorgeous setting with 2 separate fields available for the dogs to run around (they had to be on a lead all the time except in these fields) Sadly it poured down the whole time so I was very stressed due to wet dogs (couldn't have them on the bed)/clothes...etc The cabin has absolutely everything you need, although with 2 dogs, 2 nights was plenty.

As mentioned, my husband is a novice fisherman and at times felt he was being told off for not having certain equipment, although we did understand the reasons once explained, however made us feel a little uncomfortable and we almost left early.

So quiet... sunsets and rises amazing... did a bit of fishing which for me as a pure novice was a bonus... I'm realibly informed by my old man I caught a good sized mirror and common carp.. 🎣 Our hosts Mark and Geraldine were ace.... greeted upon arrival and we took them up on their offer of warm pastries and rolls.... Great way to start a break away from everything. The bed in our cabin was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped ( proper cooker, 4 rings, oven and grill and microwave, decent size fridge with freezer compartment ) Wood burner and electric heater... Good size shower in the ensuite. I dipped my foot in the swimming pond... even at this time of year it wasn't cold... but I'm a wuss....maybe next time 😎 All in all.... A+
