Cute Self Catering Flat in the Brecon Beacons

Perfect location, and cheaper than some of the pubs nearby. It's a very pretty flat and I think they've recently decorated, perhaps in response to some previous reviews. For the most part, it was comfortable. It was very easy to check-in and out. Milk in the fridge and Welsh cakes were a nice touch. A few more basic supplies (a range of teas or kitchen staples for cooking) would have gone the extra mile.

The advert says free parking nearby, but this is quite unfair. The owner suggested two car parking sites to me in advance of our trip. One of them is not free but paid. The other is a street with a handful of available spaces for any cars. If you're booking for a busy weekend or a summer visit, you may struggle to park. The WiFi is as bad as everybody says. The internet TV felt pointless. It was a little chilly in the evening and we turned up the radiator as much as we could. There is a generator or something else nearby that is very loud at night when you're trying to sleep. The main door and the bedroom door are both glass, so if your neighbours leave the landing night on, you'll have it shining brightly into your bedroom. A lot of the issues felt like reasonably fixable and have been flagged multiple times, so it's frustrating that they were still the case.

Excellent communication with hosts before and during stay. Excellent location right in the centre. Characterful, comfortable, well-equipped and spacious apartment.

Great location, lots of fantastic pubs, walks and amenities around.

On the face of it the property looks great and to start with we were pleased. But then you start looking at the fine details and you can tell the owners need to put a little tlc into the property and certainly upgrade a few things. The curtain rail wasn’t fixed on so when you tried to close the curtains the rail came off, only 1 curtain on the bedroom windows. These didn’t match either and let in loads of light. The toilet brush was rusty and hadn’t been changed for a long time. The pillows were incredibly cheap and thin. There were odd light bulbs in one fitting with some of the cable exposed. There was only a few bits of wood and the log burner hadn’t been cleaned out. There were cobb webs in the corners in the lounge. There is no kitchen or bathroom extraction and only 1 of the large windows would open. The noise from the fridge compressor downstairs was more than a little and the newsagent staff come in at 06:00 and were very noisy (accepted they can’t do much about this but this just added to the unpleasant stay). There were comments left on here re certain things from many months ago (the comments book not having space June 2023) and yet nothing had been done to rectify them. Which again just added to the feeling the owners were trying to do the bare minimum and not listening to any feedback.

Great location. Peasant, airy apartment. Owner was very helpful when asked questions .. despite being in transit herself from S Africa !

WiFi and tv (Netflix) were not accessible. This wasn’t really a problem for me as I was out and about most of the time but it may be an issue for others

Location was excellent.

Limited wood for the burner. Limited toilet paper. Creeper coming in the bedroom window. Couldn’t watch the rugby in the tv.

location was brill! layout of flat was really cute, well decorated & had everything I needed. A beautiful place to rest & recuperate.

Shop bow was noisy at times & at night could hear the fridges & equipment turning in & off. A bit hard to get used to.
