I was given very easy instruction to access the appartment.

Fantastic location! And our favourite out of the 5 villages. The location couldn’t be better, above shops, bars and cafes however the double glazing blocked out most of the noise on the evening. It was a real home from home, equipped to make meals as well as other facilities such as a hairdryer, umbrellas etc.

The separate bedroom/bathroom/living could be tricky for some. However we managed this well given the excellent location and facilities on offer.

The neighbors were very noisy, but I guess that can't be helped.

Neighbors were a little noisy at night, but nothing out of the norm with kids running around.

Perfect location when travelling by train- right in the centre of the town.

The location was very good, clean apartment, fully equipped with everything one needs.

When you go into the apartment, it has 3 doors, one to a sitting area/sofa bed kitchen, the middle one was locked, the third to the right, had a bathroom an bunkbeds-very tight space. It was not clear to us that we were only renting the kitchen area and bunkbed area. So the person staying on the sofa bed/kitchen area has no access to the bathroom at night, unless the door to the bunkbed is unlocked. The second night we were there, other people arrived to the middle door/apmt - where, by looking at the pictures there is a double bed kitchen/bathroom/sitting area. Having strangers in the third apartment was uncomfortable and we didn't feel safe leaving the door unlocked at night to use the bathroom. So my husband and I had to sleep in the bunkbed/bathroom room. Very uncomfortable, every time one of us moved the entire bed moved. It had a humid feel, no window. I just re-read our booking confirmation, it was not immediately clear that we were renting only the two rooms and not the entire place, which is what I thought we were getting. This part, I feel, needs to be in bold letters to make sure people know what they are getting.

This apartment is in a great location. It has great air conditioning (although the unit takes up half the balcony space). It is central to all the action in Riomaggiore which has a great vibe. It’s close to the train station, not too far from the parking spot that you’ll pay for.

Overall, DISAPPOINTING!! This was our last stay on our two week vacation. I gave all other places rave reviews. I do my research before we book and thought this would be a great fit for our family of four adults. Although it is an ideal location, we had some unexpected surprises/issues. Your first impression will be the parking- it is actually a HALF a parking spot beside/partially inside?!? a garage that is packed with old kitchen cupboards- at the owners mothers’ home it appeared. This means about 1/3 of your car will be jutting into the street for the duration of your stay. Just maneuvering your car into this incredibly tight spot is very challenging if you have a car that fits three suitcases. The bedding- The main bed was not the most comfortable, but it wasn’t horrible. The pull out couch’s bedding OMG!!!! It had not been laundered in a VERY long time is all I can guess?!? The mattress’ smell was VERY FOWL. We let the manager know, and he was no help at all. He blamed the cleaning staff. We actually had to flip over the mattress and use multiple sheets to even tolerate a sleep on it as we were here for three nights. No apologies, no compensation, nothing. We didn’t really have much of a choice at this point of the vacation but to tough it out. OWNERS, please replace this mattress for those future families who deserve better. After the second night, both my daughters struggled with allergies- puffy faces, sneezing, running eyes. Not an issue at any other of the seven places we’ve stayed over the two weeks in Italy. Maybe from the black mold spores that seem to decorate the rooms and bathroom?!? Ugh. I do not understand how this place has such high ratings.
