SAV Apartments Clarence Street-Loughborough

Location

The place was dirty, it was not as described on the website at all, people banging on the door in the evening, jammed front door, dirty cutlery cobwebs everywhere, the property not dealing with the issues.

We have stayed at this property several times: it is in line with the standards offered by other properties in Loughborough. This time, however, SOMETHING UNPLEASANT HAPPENED: for a stay in July 2024 (for the Graduation Ceremonies) booked by us in March 2024, they reserved us a different accommodation to what we paid for! That is, they gave us an apartment with 2 bedrooms, instead of 2 apartments, as we had chosen (we were a group of strangers). We are very unhappy and disappointed with this last experience also because we could not find an alternative as all the properties in the city were full and SAV took advantage of this! And unfortunately they did not refund us the difference of the downgrade! Deplorable.

They only notified us of their overbooking problem after they took our money! They also said we could still cancel, but it was known to everyone that there were no other places available in the facilities in the city! .

Host was patient and helpful when we had problems.

The apartment smelt of damp. The bedroom ceiling had water leak stains and furniture and fittings seemed old and in need of replacing. Should have provided a hair dryer and cereal bowls.

Location is not far from Centre and ample parking space. Ana was supportive was the only highlight of the stay.

Just want to highlight few other points for SAV to give a better experience: None of the emails on check in process was ever received. I was lucky to get a WhatsApp message from Ana, who helped me out to gain access to the parking and the apartment. - the kitchen utilities are dirty - ⁠the cutlery and glasses were not cleaned and give out a strange odor - ⁠the lighting in the living space is poor and covers for the overhead lights are not in place - ⁠there were no spare towels - ⁠the emails for checking in etc never came. Had you not messaged me earlier, I would have struggled to get access to the apartment - one toilet was not functional and promises to get it sorted were never met I think SAV needs to take these up seriously to prevent such inconveniences to future guests. Location, layout, cleanliness and general upkeep of property

Plenty of room and everything you'll need for your stay. Location not too far away from town/train station. Secure parking.

On arrival I couldn't get in with the lockbox code that I was given. I contacted SAV and was told they had given me the wrong code. The cleanliness wasn't the best. Dirty marks on the walls and skirting boards and water marks on the ceiling from a previous leak from the apartment above. spiders In the corners of all the rooms, a long black hair on one of the pillows and the sofa smelt fousty. I also came back to the apartment to find some bloke jet washing the mud out of the cracks in the brick floor outside the apartment door spraying water and mud everywhere and making a right mess for anyone wanting to enter or leave the apartment. Looks much better in the pictures than in real life. The check in process is also a nightmare. I probably wouldn't stay again unless it vastly improved.
