Fantastic location by the sea in the remote and stunning village of Kato Zakros. The accommodation was close to everything we needed and the family were very attentive and helpful!

"Incredible view, lovely room."

The incredible view of the sea from the window and from the shared terrace. The sound of waves crashing on the beach to fall asleep to (and wake up to). Charmingly decorated rooms which, although small, seem to have most things you need: fridge, kettle, cafetiere, cups, bowls, plates and cutlery. Clothes line for drying Perfect location on the beach, just 100 m or so from 3 restaurants open in early April. Try Nikos Platanikos if it's open. Just 200m or so from the amazing and well-interpreted Zakros Minoan Palace and the entry to Gorge of the Dead which is easy and spectacular. I'd rate Athena rooms at least 11/10 if I could!

Lovely location & very pretty studio apartment with a lovely outdoor space. The host also left us coffee, tea, water, juice etc which felt very welcoming. She brought us cake after the storm.

Unfortunately we were at Kato Zakros when the worst storm in living history hit. We lost power temporarily & Wi-Fi overnight for more than 24 hours but the hosts made a great effort to sort it as soon as they could. They provided advice about the safety of walking after the storm. The studio apartments are not that well equipped for self catering. There is a good sized fridge & kettle but only minimal cutlery & crockery. There are several tavernas down the steps from the studios.

Everything, rooms, views,balcony.landscaping, beautiful stone finished buildings, great hosts.

The driveway is very steep, parking a bit limited.
