THE ROOF HOUSE - appartamento piazza grande

Beautifully presented and authentic with old beams in the roof, terraces with amazing views over the valley, a view out the window of the main square, a smart TV and everything needed for cooking a meal.

Location and views were excellent!

The host was unfriendly and unhelpful. He sent us into a dirt cave that smelled of rats to retrieve the keys - that followed an amateur video that did not guide us to where the keys were and refusing to explain where the keys were ( in English or Italian).

It was a wonderful experience staying at the Roof House. Superb views, a central location in the town, and a cozy, interesting apartment. Loved the sense of history and atmosphere. We hard most things needed for our stay including a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable sleeping arrangements. It's suitable for a small family or two couples.

Travellers should be aware that it's impossible to drive in the centre of the town and there is a long steep walk up to the apartment - but when you arrive you are in a marvellous location. We were delighted with the experience.

Alessandro, the host, was fantastic. Assisted us in so many ways. He made arrival easy with great instructions. The location was very central in the older part of Montepulciano, on the Piazza Grande. The house is a little part of old Italy. I selected it for my wife's 60th Birthday and she said it was like staying at a 'Nonna's house'. The views from the windows and from the terrace over Tuscany were unreal.

Not a lot to dislike. Nothing bad to say about the Roof House. Only issue would be the steep streets and cobblestone roads around Piazza Grande if mobility was an issue.

The apartment was amazing. I have never seen such craftsmanship and attention to detail in a renovation which made it such a pleasure to stay in. Spacious rooms with a fully equipped kitchen, furnished exquisitely plus our own outside terrace added to the experience. Our host made sure we were settled in on arrival and organised our ride to the train station.

Beautiful, spacious with stunning views. Having our own roof terrace meant we could do a wine tasting then bring a bottle back to enjoy whilst experiencing stunning views over the Tuscan countryside 👌

Get a better fan! Our first two nights were tricky due to the extreme heat and the fan provided turned off after 2 hours!

Fabulous location, beutiful, vintage appartment.

Absolutely loved the location, the view, the historic building, and the rooftop patio! The apartment is also very roomy and clean. Great communication.

A few doorways and the kitchen sink area is low and you have to remember duck or stoop. I am 5’ 8” and I bumped my head a few times.
