APARMENT SAMANA HOUSE OLLANTAYTAMBO

Basic apartment which met our needs. The location to town was excellent, as we could walk with no issues. The view of the ancient Incan site from the bedroom window was special.

Es una casa sencilla pero muy cómoda. Buenos colchones y frazadas para descansar. Agua caliente para bañarse. La propiedad es bastante templada Barrio muy tranquilo e histórico. Cerca de todo. Me permitieron ingresar a la mañana y del día que nos retirábamos, pudimos dejar el equipaje hasta las 15.30 hs para realizar otro paseo antes de irnos de Ollantaytambo. Fueron muy amables y generosos. Me ayudaron a llevar el equipaje.

The location was spectacular. The host was super communicable and helpful

Apt Samana was spacious, clean, and close to the center of town and also close to the ancient ruins. It was quite lovely

The apt was quite cold and we had to wear all of our clothes to bed. We were provided w a tiny space heater that we moved from room to room. With only a little warming. Also, the hot water was not hot, often cool, only 3 of our 8 showers were warm enough.

it is basically a two bedroom two bath apartment with a kitchenette. So pretty functional, but a little bare bones.

The stairway up to the bedrooms is very narrow, large people will have trouble with it. Renters should be aware that is a cash only apartment, no credit cards.

We spent 4 nights in Ollantaytambo and had a wonderful experience. The owner kindly let us leave our bags for one night while we were in Aguas Caliente. From the upstairs balcony, we could see the Ollantaytambo ruins and lots of hummingbirds. The location is in a pedestrian alley at the back, but the owner helped us with our luggage when we arrived by taxi at the plaza. We enjoyed exploring the alleys and watching the streams running through this cute town. It’s also very close to a local minimarket on the same alley. Highly recommend!

The barking neighborhood dogs at night were a bit annoying when we were trying to sleep.

Spacious house with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen where we prepared our breakfast, clay pot heater/aromatherapy with eucalyptus leaves. Relatively a safe neighborhood, with nearby mini grocery shops.

Wifi was spotty, but it seems the same as everywhere else.

Spacious apartment, bedrooms are large, with good comfortable warm and clean beds. From a small balcony you can see ruinas and watch the flight of Colibri!

the shower on the second floor does not work, it needs a repair, we did not use it. From the bathroom on the first floor goes the smell, which was not very nice. There are a lot of dogs, be prepared to listen dogs barking all night..

Self contained apartments. Great for the couples and families.

Noise from neighborhood. Specially playing music until 2:30AM in the morning. But this is not a property’s fault.

The location is great. 5 min walk to the center of town and about 15 min walk to the train station. Little bodega right in front of the house was super helpful. The beds are SO warm and comfy, like i almost wanted to check the mattress brand to buy one for myself. Great view of Ollantaytambo archeological site from the upstairs window. The shower has nice water pressure and hot water. The hosts are helpful and welcoming. There's also a full length mirror upstairs which is a nice treat (if you've budget traveled a bit you know this is a luxury).

The bedrooms are upstairs and the staircase is teeny, it was a bit difficult to get our luggage upstairs. I was traveling with my parents (in their 70s) and was kind of worried about them going up and down the stairs, so just something to keep in mind depending who your travel group is. The house is in a regular neighborhood, so there's some noise in the area at night, but with earplugs it's nothing unmanageable. There were some small things that should be fixed/added in the kitchen and bathroom to make the stay more comfortable, but I mentioned them privately to the host and I have hope he will handle them before the next guests arrive.
