Contucci Residenze d'Epoca

We were very late to arrive and the host Elizebetta stayed up real late to receive us and explain the details of the stay very patiently We realised this is the only room they let out in their Pallazzo, so we felt more like house guests, although ,of course it is very private and we did not see the hosts at all during the stay. The location is absolutely fabulous, right on the Piazza Grande the main city square, good for us we were there at a quiet time, not sure how it would be on peak periods. biggest surprise was that we had coupons to breakfast at a near by cafe, that cafe happened to be the best in Montepulciano, it offered fantastic BF and amazing views and balconies, we thought that BF was a very generous offering from the hosts. Also we slept over their cellars, that's how the room was located, so we slept so well since we were sleeping over barrels of Vino de Nobile which is what Contucci is proud of, their wines, and it was , the best wine we have had so far!!

You cannot park close to the Hotel, as its in the city centre where cars are not allowed, so we deop off bags and then go park. The car park was a bit away, but thats actually fine as its just a one time walk to and fro from the parking.

Posizione ottima,esattamente nella piazza centrale del paese. La struttura storica è ben tenuta, molto pulita. La colazione presso un bar convenzionato è stata ricca e buona.

Il bar che offre la colazione ha un servizio lento e si trova troppo distante rispetto all’appartamento secondo me. Anche il parcheggio è distante ma è inevitabile vista la posizione centrale. Abbiamo avuto difficoltà a trovarlo ma lo staff dell’appartamento è stato cordiale e disponibile nelle indicazioni.

La posizione visto che si trova all'interno del palazzo più importante di Montepulciano e nella piazza principale, l'arredamento e la completezza degli accessori necessari. Molto comodo avere il riferimento dell'enoteca proprio di fronte per ogni problema. Il parcheggio anche se lontano è comodo averlo.

Il problema è la scomodità insita in Montepulciano, paese in collina pieno si salite e sostanzialmente pedonale, per fortuna si può entrare per scaricare i bagagli. Il caffè esterno dove si fa colazione (bellissimo) dista 6/700 metri in ripida discesa e se si vuole ripassare in camera prima di scendere verso l'auto (il parcheggio è in basso) si deve fare una bella salita ma questo non dipende da loro. Viceversa mi è spiaciuto che in 4 giorni di soggiorno non fosse prevista alcuna pulizia, cambio di asciugamani o rifornimento di bagnoschiuma se non dal quinto giorno, eppure i giorni successivi al primo li ho pagati la stessa cifra del primo quando tutto era pulito ed in ordine.

Lovely place in the heart of the town. Large comfortable suite. We were able to drive up front to drop off our luggage which was a huge plus! Breakfast was wonderful at a nearby restaurant with a gorgeous view. We would stay here again given the opportunity to return

Nothing prepared us for the hike to the piazza. Staying in the middle of Montepulciano in such an istoric place exceeds all expectations. The staff was super friendly, the room is big and clean (so is the bathroom). The breakfast at Caffe Polizziano is super tasty and the view there absolutely breathtaking. You can't help but feel like a nobile while staying at Palazzo Contucci, we will always remember this stay.

The hairdyer needs to be replaced, I trully believe it's a fire hazard waiting to happen. We left the window open (that's on us) and got a Gekko in our room, but we managed to get him out alive.

Restaurant is not on property. Not a far walk, but quite hilly. Restaurant was well worth the walk.

Just can't think of a thing. Hosts were outstanding. Room was beautiful. Took lots of pictures of the room! Everything went very smoothly.
