Tiny Cabin at the DonkeyRanch

This is a wonderful little cabin in the countryside, the highlight of the cabin are the donkeys and the horse. They literally welcome you once you arrive outside your door waiting for you for treats. The cabin is small but has all that you want, a comfortable bed for two people, a bathroom and a kitchen with micro, fridge etc. Very close by the Wichita Refuge that is actually the reason I booked the place. Loved every second there and I will definitely come back if I’ll be around. Strongly recommend it!

I am suppose to be getting a refund. The guy in charge seemed personable enough but definitely not a host. People come there on vacation they don’t need to hear a bunch of excuses. He has his mom cleaning the cabin and absolutely there wasn’t one thing clean. The sheets on the bed had gross stains. And they looked fresh. Simply awful. The animals came running to get carrots. I hope they are fed daily? We were there twenty minutes tops. Manure everywhere up to the cabin. Porch had thick dirt like it never been swept. We were just going to sit outside and enjoy the view of the mountain (s) and enjoy being detached from everything for a day and 1/2. I immediately called the guy:Roger to inform we were not staying. And he immediately told me he would give me a refund. I haven’t followed up on the refund but I hope he is true to his word as the cabin did not live up to anything the reviews said about it. I want this comment to leave a clear picture of what to expect there. It is the truth and not intended to be cruel towards the owner who should’ve been a lot more truthful with us.

Please see above. This “cabin” is not something guests should stay in. This is for out of town cousins that you don’t want to stay long. There is cleaning supplies piled on the shelves that are totally visible like it is a garage. The coffee pot was horrible. The bed sheets were disgusting. There was dust clumps hanging above the bathroom door. There was manure right up to the cabin. No clear trails anywhere to walk and see the mountain which would have taken about three hundred feet to go and sit at. The view is not clear from the mountain. I was hoping the fee to stay there was cause it was so basic. Guess I was wrong. It was basic alright with no cleaning. One of the donkeys had a clear cut with skin exposed under his right eye. I hope it has been treated that would be a bad place for an infection. I told Roger all these things in our phone conversation (except the view to the mountain and no trails part). I was going to check out the old bar bq pit inside but by that point my wife couldn’t take it anymore. Made me look bad for trusting the reviews on this place. This whole scheme could have been executed better on Roger’s part. That is not a lie. I hope he will be supported by your group to get the place up to a better standard to receive guest. This place has some potential on paper. Good potential but bad presentation. I pray the animals are taken care of better than the animals,

Great relaxed getaway with amazing views. Spending time with the horse and donkeys was a fun and unique experience.

Loved the horse and donkeys. It was a nice little place to just get away.

That there was only one cabin. Would love to have brought our adult children so they could stay next to us.

The Donkeys were the best thing ever , so well stocked with things u need peaceful quiet

Even though the temp outside was fairly low 90s and under the AC was to small for the cabin it was miserable hot until 11 pm at night was cooler outside needs insulation and a bigger AC unit . Also would be nice to install a gate that opens and closes electronically it's hard if you're alone to have to unchain unlatch pull through and relatch very hard in the pitch dark because the ground is uneven . This can be a awesome place just need a few things to make it 5 stars .Also there's only one cabin available and we pay for the more expensive cabin thinking it was bigger I'm not sure it may be a Booking.com but stayed in the small one so they need to take that off of booking and tell another one's available because we paid extra for the cheaper one so book the $49 not the 54 . And last of Us call or message way ahead before you go out there I had trouble getting a hold of the host in the GPS lead you to the next land over which I thought the cabin you had to go around and thank God I was in an SUV I got seriously stuck and almost had to call a tow truck it's the place before you get to the RVs near the road with the Green gate but it took me several attempts after I went through that texting and calling to get the host answer me for instructions so contact them way beforehand because the GPS will send you to the wrong section!!!!
