Avondale, Lytham - Unique and luxury apartment in the heart of Lytham

Location was satisfactory

PLEASE READ, I don't normally do reviews but felt this needed one. I accept this property is dog friendly, however on arrival the entrance hallway needed a good mopping, the stairs leading up to the studio (not a one bedroomed property as incorrectly described) needed a good hoover together with the lounge/bedroom stained carpet. There were dog biscuit remains from the previous occupant. Fold up bed was broken, as referred to in previous reviews, which my husband fixed. This bed was also very uncomfortable with a thin stained mattress. There were no mattress protectors or pillow protectors on the somewhat worn looking pillows. The kitchen only had a microwave and no hob facilities. Cutlery was lacking with no tea spoons. Limited glassware, 1 wine glass and 1 tall glass, plenty of small water glasses. Fridge hadn't been wiped out from previous occupants. Shower was virtually cold on the first morning but improved on the second. Perhaps if the owners read these reviews and rectified the issues, many of which previously complained about, this would a lovely little STUDIO apartment. Some TLC required.

Decorated modern and up to date kitchen and bathroom are gorgeous and done to a very good standard. Lovely big open windows. Location was good for us. Main bed was comfortable with a huge tv that swivveled for viewing comfort. Clean and welcomed our 2 little doggies. Unique cute little apartment very quirky. Parking was excellent no issues on parking at all. Felt safe during our stay.

Stains visible on carpets and cream chairs. Too small really for more than 2 people especially with sofa bed put up. Sofa bed is broken metal has snapped and missing springs with a very thin worn mattress, however my boy slept ok in it for the 2 days we were there as he’s only small. Pillows need replacing as very worn and thin. Heating cannot be controlled by you, you have to keep trying to get hold of owner to turn it up off on or down. Owner doesn’t answer phone and preferred to WhatsApp which I found very frustrating as it’s much easier to resolve issues over a phone rather than back and forth with messages which can be misunderstood. Kitchen utensils were 3 of 1 4 of another etc. cups had stains in and needed washing before use. Shower took a good while to heat up and was slow, however manageable. With these few little amendments I believe this could be an excellent little asset for the owners and I hope they take this feedback as constructive rather than a criticism as it’s genuinely not meant to cause any upset.

The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk from the sea, shops and takeaway facilities.

The description of being luxury isn't accurate. As a dog is allowed we would not expect it to be. It was basic but clean. We missed not having a cooker, a microwave was available but limited what we could do.

Great location for us. 2 mins from seafront so perfect for walking the dog and a gentle 10 min stroll into Lytham. Memory Foam mattress was a nice touch (and quality toilet roll!!!) Finding the property was easy and parking was plentiful. Charlotte was very helpful.

Was expecting a separate bedroom but it all being in the one space didn't bother us at all. On a pedantic point, the prosecco would have been nice if it had been left in the fridge.

A little sofa instead of the chairs would have been nice but we do appreciate this might not work if the extra bed was being used.

Not a luxury apartment for 4 with a sofa bed and fully equipped kitchen. it’s a basic studio with a microwave and toaster and a foldaway bed which had a very thin mattress. Not clean, dirty, creased, stained bedding with was not sorted when raised with the owner so bought a sleeping bag. 2 stained chairs, not enough to seat 4 people which the apartment is as advertised for. Contacted owner and sent photos, 8 hours to respond but said would take up with housekeeping and arrange a deep clean. I will not be staying again to check deep clean has been done!
