Hospedaje Casa Monge

Perfect tiny house in a cute nature place. The river is closed. You can park your car. It is cold during night but you have everything you need (blankets). Very clean, hot shower and the kitchen is well equiped. We saw a quetzal really early in the morning !

Exactly what we wanted! A cosy and nice apartment in the woods. Where we could see the quetzal on the property itself! We saw it in the afternoon and morning. And there is a nice walk towards the waterfall which we liked!

Not a big deal, but wifi didn't have a good reception.

The location is amazing, deep in a valley in San Gerardo de Dota, close to Los Quetzales National Park. The unit looks like a converted container or trailer and is well equipped and comfortable. Like others have mentioned, it does get cold at night. This was ok for us, but it was a huge (and welcome) contrast to the searing heat on the Osa Peninsula.

Wifi was a bit spotty. Previous guests had destroyed the pans and left the kettle with fat in (cooking hotdogs maybe?!?). We gave this feedback to the property and they were appreciative and have said they will replace the pans.

This was the perfect stay if you want to see quetzal. We saw 8 of them over 2 mornings! The owner Luis and his family are very nice. The casita was perfectly comfortable for 2-4 people and even had hot water in the shower! Overall we loved this place and will look forward to staying again someday!

Nothing

It felt very private with the sound of the river and the other properties being quite far. It offers some great trails up the river, the house had some great views by itself, and we were even lucky enough to catch a Quetzal on their lookout point. Best value for the zone imo.

Everything was fantastic, the location inside the Biosphere Nature Reserve and the Quetzals. The kitchen was very nice, beds were comfortable and the walk to the waterfall was lovely.

Only the water in the shower wasnt hot.

It is right next to the forrest. If you wake up early you can even get to see the quetzals. Beautiful! The cabin is cozy and well equipped. The property has hiking routes from easy to advanced. Looking forward to coming back soon!

The property was very cosy, comfortable and quiet with a well stocked kitchen. Good trails on the property and the host was incredibly friendly and helpful - gave us access to their washing machines and lifts to the bus stop.

Location was great. Had a kitchen. Good value.
