Great location,very clean,comfortable and snug.

If you gonna take Petland ferry, it is near the harbor. This is the only good side of the house.

1. Taking a cold shower in 4°C weather is absolutely brutal, especially when the bathroom heater isn’t even warm. I feel like I’m freezing to death. This is officially the worst experience of my trip. 2. Although the landlord sent her husband to check the water system, he didn’t fix it. He said the hot water would come in 20 minutes, but I still ended up taking a cold shower. 3. The place wasn’t clean at all—whether it was the kitchenware or the house itself. It felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. My brother and I didn’t even feel comfortable putting our luggage on the sofa. 4. To make things worse, the landlord stopped replying to our messages. Definitely the worst experience we’ve had in Scotland.

What an amazing property in an amazing location right on the sea front. Literally (not joking) a 2 minute drive from the ferry port (which has no impact on the property nor quality of stay) the cottage was a cozy little place with all of the amenities you would need. I did read the reviews and some of the negatives which were such as, need black out blinds and instructions on how to use the heaters and different pillows and my response is. Yes there are two windows in the bedroom one is a kind of skylight, we did bring portable blinds but did not need them. We brought our own pillows but did not need them and as for the heaters, we'll not rocket science there's three buttons, one to turn on and off and another two like volume buttons to turn temp up and down. The property is in the St Margaret's Hope area which is a 25 to 35 min drive from Kirkwall. There's a couple of pubs and a bistro place and a little shop with post office and a small grocers to get your staples. If you did come without a vehicle there is a regular bus service which stops a stones throw away so could get about if needed. Can't fault this place as a holiday getaway and would 100% stay again

A suggestion rather than a dislike, it would have been cool to have a map of the honesty boxes across the islands. Not sure if one has ever been created but it was great fun exploring the islands to see what local goods were available for sale and came away with lots of goodies and still have some Orkney potatoes in our pantry a month on, fresh as the day they were dug.

Lovely place right on the water's edge. Had all the necessary items for a comfortable stay. I would highly recommend it.

Just about everything, we can not fault 2 The Noust Tracy and Peter we fantastic, especially with two old people who could not work the cooker/oven. The house, bedding, furniture were all of excellent quality and the house itself was spotless. Can not praise this place too highly, worth every penny.

That we had to come home.
