The location was very good with both the city center and seaside nearby. The communication with the host was seamless. The sheets and towels were clean and tidy.

The location of the apartment was good however the stairwell was very narrow so people with for example crutches or big suitcases might encounter accessibility problems. The layout of the apartment is also very weird, with a very long hallway and rooms branching out from it. The apartment itself is in need of renovation, especially the kitchen. The windows in both the bedrooms are located toward "wells" which creates a lot of echo in the whole building. Horrible kitchen: the fridge and freezer were covered in mold, stinky. The pots and pans were very old and not useable (the plates, cups, sponge, dish soap and utensils were okay). The microwave looked like it was from the 70´s and not suitable for usage. The sewage in the shower was leaking during baths; you could also find some mold on the wall in the shower.

Very good value for a two-bedroom apartment. Small but comfortable lounge was a nice place to sit. Kitchen reasonably well equipped. Good location close to restaurants and bars of central Santa Cruz and waterfront / harbour area (though a bit further from the bus station).

Door to apartment block from street didn't lock - one could simply push it open (the host said it was being repaired, though, so hopefully will be OK for future visitors). Key safe was a bit fiddly to manipulate to extract key to the flat. Light switch in bathroom was stiff and hard to switch on. There was quite a lot of noise from a nearby school, and inside the flat it was a bit stuffy and muggy in the hot Canarian autumn. I was travelling with a friend, but the owners seem to have assumed we were a couple and the cleaning person didn't put sheets on the beds in the second bedroom (in the event, it was so warm that I slept on top of the blanket, so no harm done, but...). No big issues, in other words, but quite a few minor ones that made it a bit less wonderful than it might have been.
