"Terrible place to be, I’m afraid."

The view from the balcony... And a newly renovated bathroom. But that is not enough to cover the lack of cleaning, gas smell, and a malfunctioning aircondition.

Two people booked for 8 nights. Not a cheap stay. Came in late afternoon and there was a strong strong smell of gas in the apartment - it made both of us sick right away. Also: it was like an sauna. No aircondition on and to our surprise: it did not work - no cold air coming in! Contacts the property right away (about the gas smell). They answer it is normal. But it def. should not be. We send them several messages before going to bed in an apartment smelling so strongly of gas and so sweaty that it is so uncomfortable. Morning after - they (Cleanbnb who administrates the property) send out a sweet woman from the administration. Regarding the gas smell, she just asks if we know how to open/close the gas tap. Bottom line is that we cannot use the kitchen properly if we do not want to have the strong gas smell in the apartment.. she also take a look at the aircon but can only raise the degree from 18 (lowest)to 24, saying that this old system cannot work with 18 degrees. We let it be-but it does not help. We leave the apartment for a couple of hours to give the aircon some time to “work” and the rest of the smell to disappear. It does not help. At this time, we cannot stay much longer at this place. So I contact them again. But they just refuse to do anything and says it is how it is. Also, the property has not been cleaned well - we did not want to use the fridge as it had old food leftovers in it. We send pictures of if - they just answer that it is an old fridge.. and the sofa bed is sooo bad: worst sleep arrangements. After the two nights, we take the decision to find another place to be for the rest of our holiday. We simply cannot be here for another minute. They would under no circumstances provide a refund. Not for the 6 unused days- I would of course pay for the 2 nights used. So frustrated to be left with nothing. Not even being recognised. And having used so much time discussing with them. So hope this message will reach potential bookers.
