ÁLka - Cozy Room by the Sea With Private Hot Tub

The location was amazing, very short drive from the airport, overlooking the sea, perfect room for couple. Nicely decorated and clean. The hostess was very accommodating and friendly and gave great advice and lovely chats through out our stay in Iceland. Highly recommend. :)

Would have been a little easier with a fridge to store shop brought food and maybe light cooking facilities.

Hot tub was very dirty, had a film of filth on the sides. More importantly, the bathroom had NO door, the only separation was a grey transparent window on one side. Literally, you could see 100% view of the toilet from the bed. (it was about 3 feet from the bed). No privacy at all, similar to a jail cell set up. Not remotely what you would expect at this price point. No fan or access to open windows as all were sealed shut (security concerns?), making the room a humid, moldy environment. We were told to shower with the door to the outside open. Yes, with a direct line of sight from the door to the shower (no door there either), we were to keep the door open while showering (40 degrees F), and then there were all the security cameras surrounding the building. Was concerned regarding safety due to the number of cameras EVERYWHERE. No breakfast, no refrigerator.

The toilet in the room was not private. It was in the same space as the bedroom, with only a glass panel that provided any separation but did not allow for privacy. The bed was too small for two people. That may have been in the description, which we probably did not notice/register.

Beautiful room with Blue Lagoon toiletries. The bed was so comfortable! The hostess is just the nicest lady and immediately responded to any questions. We had a little trouble operating the key but I think it may be something weird with Icelandic locks. It’s a great view and hot tub looked inviting.
