The owner met us and even waited as our arrival was a bit later than anticipated, which was very nice of him. He gave us a tour of the apartment BEFORE collecting the required tax which was also very nice. This is a key part of renting from Airbnb I have learned over time as if a property manager is simply going to provide a code at some point, it's often a difficult process and if the apartment is not satisfactory you have no options.
