Incredible view of the sea from the lounge and comfort of our bed (on mezzanine level). Loved the spacious feel of the apartment and beautiful, ornate furnishings. Had all the amenities we needed from basic pantry items to lots of towels and linen. Even had umbrellas, which was extremely helpful and thoughtful of the host. The apartment was one of the best we had stayed in in terms of comfort and views of the sea. The beds were very comfortable. The place was really clean. Really loved how quiet the apartment was and its proximity to everything. Fabio was super helpful in terms of local recommendations and check in info, though we did have initial challenges with admin which I'll touch on later in my review.

1. Check-in Neither Booking.com nor the host appeared to be aware of the existing legislation in Italy prohibiting online check in for rental accommodation. When I raised this with the host, he simply stated that physical check in was not possible and that, despite having already paid, I would be unable to access the property without completing the online check in process. Given my understanding of the recent legislation, I was uncomfortable providing extensive personal information - including copies of all guests’ passports - to a third party platform. This requirement was not indicated in the Booking.com confirmation, which states that online check in is an optional feature intended to speed up arrival, not a mandatory step. As a result, I found myself having to complete this unexpected task the evening before departure, which was particularly stressful as I had an early morning flight. 2. Second room There are two sleeping areas - one on mezzanine level, which provides plenty of natural light, the second at the back, backing onto the courtyard. Whilst a lovely room, there is limited natural light as the shutter is very old and doesn't operate well. At night, light comes in from the courtyard so we needed to try and block the window with cushions to aide sleep. When I fed this back to Fabio he was very receptive to my feedback and assures me that they will look into resolving this for future guests. 3. Safety aspects for small kids My 4 year old daughter accidently rolled off the bed onto the mezzanine level and landed very close to the railing of the mezzanine, which has a circa half meter gap from the floor to the first railing. God forbid if she had rolled further. It was certainly a caution for us to monitor the kids carefully if playing in that area and a caution to anyone travelling with very young kids to bear in mind. There is also no banister on the stairs. 4. Parking - closest parking is 0.8 miles away and it's expensive - 15 euros a day.

Posizione perfetta per visitare Ortigia, appartamento comodissimo e fornito di tutto quello che poteva servire, arredamento di gusto in ampi spazi da godere (anche all'esterno). Staff gentilissimo e disponibile

Die Lage direkt am Meer wunderbar. Sehr hell und mit Aussicht aufs Meer. Grosse und sehr gut ausgestattete Küche. Ganze Wohnung elegant und originell eingerichtet. Super, die zwei Schlafzimmer mit eigener Nasszelle!

Kommt mir gerade nichts in den Sinn... ;-)

The location and size to accommodate 8

The rooms are very small if you travel with sizable suitcase. The bathrooms were very small and there was no room to put any toiletries.

Kanalgeruch aus jeder Dusche, teilweise Wasser kalt beim Duschen, Bäder teilweise zu klein, Heizung mit Klimaanlage hat nicht ordentlich funktioniert, Trotz Küche wurde schon bei Ankunft mitgeteilt, dass Kochen eigentlich nicht erlaubt ist, Mülltrennung mit Müllabholungskalender - Müll musste selbst weggebracht werden mit Androhung von Strafzahlungen, teilweise sehr nerviger Vermieter

Loved it decorated with great taste ! And looks very Sicilian. Location is amazing and the view & terrasses are breathtakingly beautiful.

One of the bed wasn’t confortable (a sofa bed in one room) at all (so 2 guests had a hard time to accommodate) The external bathroom had an issue to close and one person got locked in.

Very comfortable and stylish apartment, perfect for 7 of us and room to give each other space. Location absolutely ideal for Ortigia! In a quiet side street but super close to walk to everywhere on the island. We swam every morning from the platform only a couple of minutes from the apartment, it was wonderful. Communication with the host was great. Thanks a lot and recommend!

No complaints

An amazing location. Fabio was extremely helpful and very nice and always available if we needed him – which we didn't but it was nice to know. We loved sitting on the sofa looking out at the sea, and also that it was so close to some lovely public swimming areas where we could just jump in the sea in the morning. Highly recommended.

There was nothing that we didn't like about the property. But the listing is a little confusing as there are pictures of two different apartments all mixed up together. It does say somewhere in the listing which one you're booking, but it's not clear if you're just booking on your phone. It looks like they're all the same apartment. Actually, we thought we were booking the other one but the one we ended up in was much better location and better for us. So this is not a complaint just that the listing was a little confusing.
