Casa Nicoli

My holiday in the magnificent Bergamo Citta Alta was made ALL the better by staying at Casa Nicoli. A perfect place to stay and I am SO thankful I found it and booked it for my stay. Even before my arrival, Dani provided answers to all the questions I asked while being super-helpful and informative. Once I was there and acclimatised to the 'lay of the land' and how things worked eg. the coffeemaker, I felt COMPLETELY at home. By day two or three it felt like I'd been living there forever in my own Bergamo apartment!! I approved of all the colourful styles and aesthetic tastes on display in the apartment. Dani clearly has a healthy attitude to life which embraces art, humour and good thinking with positive affirmations around the place. Most importantly, It was comfortable, clean but wait, the most impressive of all.....the LOCATION is everything you want from a place to stay. Catch a bus from the airport, get off the bus and it's a matter of two minutes walk to reach it. As I locked the front door each morning, it was a JOY to emerge immediately into the heart of Bergamo with a joyous short walk along Via Bartolomew Colleoni one way, or to Colle Aperto to catch the bus somewhere eg. Accademica Carrara, or the funicular up to San Virgilio. PLUS I loved having the option after several hours, walking, exploring and enjoying Bergamo, I could go back there in no time to drop off wine and cheese, recharge a battery or to have a rejuvenating shower before setting out again. If you're a solo traveller, a couple or a family of three with a very young one, I wholeheartedly recommend this place 100%. Thank me later. LOL.

Contemporary interior within an historic building the property was clean and extremely comfortable. Fantastic location both for staying local and for travelling to other areas.

Easy to access and good communication with the host, good access to nearby restaurants and shops. Nice apartment and well priced, more than happy with the stay. Did not take any pictures but it was a decent sized apartment and nicely decorated.

The apartment is on the first floor, without an elevator, which is common in the old city anyway. It wasn't a problem for us but could be a problem for people with mobility issues. Also one side of the apartment facing the street had a lot of noise during the day with the windows open. Fortunately the noise stops at some point in the evening. After about approximately 11 pm there is no problem at all. Also a positive advantage is that the bedroom is facing the back yard. None of above affected our stay which was excellent.

Very spacious, homely and comfortable, everything you could need inside the flat. Fantastic location. Loved it! A escolha perfeita pra passar uns dias em Bergamo.

The flat is really lovely with a little kitchen and a washing machine in the bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking small meals - there are lovely shops selling home made pasta etc. Daniele is really responsive too when contacted even although it wasn't anything important. What it great about the flat too is that literally under 5 minutes away is the bus stop for the airport and to Bergamo station in downtown Bergamo. We took the train to Venice and also to Brescia a few times to do stuff there. Brescia is a bigger train hub. There is a kind of hourly shuttle train going in-between Bergamo and Brescia. It takes about 30 min. to walk down to the station from Bergamo Alta - the flat, but as stated, there is the bus and also the funicular which goes up and down. A small supermarket is in the same street as the flat and plenty of shops, restaurants etc.

There is really nothing we disliked. The only thing which might have been nice would have been to have thicker duvets as we were there at the beginning of March and it was quite cold. I have to say though that the flat is central heated so we certainly were not cold there.

Great location, great view from the window on the alleyway that has so much charisma. All the small shops are below you and the alleyway is full of life with people constantly passing by. It was my first time in beautiful Italy and I felt that I really got that sort of old time vibe being there.
