La Marina House - Al Duomo

The unit was an exceptionally well located unit in the heart of old Catania. Restaurants and fresh food markets are at your doorstep as well as many sights. The unit itself, accessed by lift, was humble in appearance but had everything you needed for a stay. Our host was helpful and provided lots of information.

Everything was a little tired in appearance. If you want something more modern - look elsewhere. The shower was TINY so could be challenging for anyone larger. There was a balcony but you couldn’t leave the doors open because of the fish smell. Was also very strong fish smell outside in the corridor. The internet did not work for the duration of our stay.

The central location was excellent. It was convenient for everything; attractions, markets, restaurants, transport. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped, ideal for two people. It was also very quiet, considering its location.

The location is absolutely fantastic. Right in the middle of the market and loads of great restaurants literally outside the front door. All the main sights are in easy walking distance and the area felt very safe. The apartment was quiet despite being in a lively area and has a useful courtyard balcony (no views but nice to have). Apartment was clean and equipped with everything I needed. The host was amazingly helpful, I've never recieved so many messages of advice, recommendations of what to do and see, great restaurants etc (shame I never actually got to meet him).

Nice location, a Good kitchen facility (also for cooking), and Good communication with the owner. Not so a noisy place.

Very smelly location - there are many seafood restaurants and the market is just in front of the building. The laundry machine was a bit dirty - the rubber part should be cleaned, and the washing soap was missing - I had to buy (not a big issue). One day, the water was stopped - only for a couple of hours. There were ants in the bathroom.. The door kye is a bit difficult to handle - very heavy lock. The owner sent me unnecessarily too many messages including his travel tips... it was really too much.

Great location and great value.

The property was central within Catania close to all major amenities, main attractions, markets and restaurants. Location was a 10/10. Literally within 100m of the main square with the cathedral but because it was at the back of the property it had little noise you could sleep of a night. Bruno the owner checked in prior to our arrival and gave us so many excellent ideas on what to visit and how to do bus routes directions etc. he checked in during our arrival using watts app to check we were happy and if there was anything he could do and if we needed anything he was excellent. The property itself was clean, had air conditioning (a must in summer!) it had everything you could want from the basics to the extras, such as an iron washing machine etc. I highly highly recommend it.

In the very city center, equipped with anything you may need while travelling (including a washing machine), very comfortable bed, nice bathroom, aircon in both rooms. I would rent it next time

No complaints

Very clean apartments. Located in the heart of Catania. There are many places to eat nearby. A few meters away is a market where you can buy fruits, vegetables and seafood (baked artichokes with garlic are just superb). Thanks to the owner of the apartments, he sent a lot of useful information, answered questions and gave useful advice.

The apartments are located on the street, where restaurants are also located. As a result, at a certain time, the smell of fish comes from the street. This is not a problem if you do not open windows or if it does not annoy you in principle. Personally, we didn't see this as a big problem.
