Romeo Luxury Apartment

I stayed for a week and the overall experience in the apartment was good. The bed is comfy and there's everything you'd need for a short or a long stay. You can cook, there's a washing machine, microwave, even a clothes iron. Smart TV, air-conditioning, all good. The host in the reception was great, and they offer parking (10€/night) which is always a plus on Sicily.

The only thing I would comment on is the hot water in the shower. The apartment had one of those water heaters that warm up the water at the moment, and you'll get spurts of extremely hot water, then a small window of perfect temperature, and then freezing cold for the time it needs to "collect strength". And then the same cycle again. So, as much as I enjoy a Wim Hof method from time to time, I would strongly recommend they change or upgrade that system somehow.

Host was sassy but very nice at the same time, kitchen well equipped with everything you might need, location really close to Catania Centrale The apartment is modern, well equipped, and it looks like it was recently renovated, with new furniture.

We haven't received the room shown in the booking/reservation / Our room was ready at 14:00 even though we announced our arrival between 11:00 - 12:00 (this might have been Booking's fault and the host might have not received our request - but that's the issue when you have flexible check-in / check-out hours, so it's a positive and a negative at the same time) / Even though we were provided with a map and explanations on how to reach the apartment, once at the location they didn't made any sense. Once you reach the location/building, you will see some markings indicating where the apartment is, with an arrow pointing at the wrong door, but those are irrelevant and incorrect. The apartment had a weird powerful smell ( I would associate the smell with urine but my wife said it smelled how new furniture smells), stains on the walls, dirty floors. The shower cabin drain was clogged so after 2 minutes of running the shower the water would overflow outside, on the bathroom floor. The water was either burning hot or cold, no in between. The walls are very thin and the hole apartment would shake when the next door neighbor would slam their door, you would hear their bathroom sliding door during the night or when they would flush the toilet.

Close to the train station and next to the bus stop for the bus to/from the airport. City center is 15 min walking. We could leave our baggage before check in and after checkout at the reception.

Wifi was not working properly. The third bed was a sofa. Coffee machine was dirty. Shower not very clean. Area seems a bit scary especially in the night. Not a lot of things around, like good restaurants, coffee shops etc

Dirty (hairs in the shower, stains and limestone on all the appliances, white socks were black after walking on the floors, dirty windows) Shady neighbourhood Rancid sunflower oil in the kitchen Coffee machine not working properly Balconies dirty and no furniture Only one knife in the kitchen Only a used sponge in the kitchen and no kitchen towels or tissues House in general looked unkept, when you came in there was colour peeling from the walls

So incredibly dishonest location and dangerous I was mugged at night, bike stolen while checking out. You are not staying at the address they give you to check-in. You wish you were. It’s a 1.5 mile walk (over 2 km) from a gorgeous Old Italian hotel to your private apartment in the dirty slums of Calcutta, complete with streets strewn with garbage bags from weeks of no pickup. Photos attached. That’s not your safety problem, once you figure out why you need four keys, many the same shape, you will realize you have entered the Saw meets Hostel movie sequel. In total pitch black darkness you have to climb stairs, then guess which keys go to which doors with no lights If it sound like a reality show or sequel to bnb horror movie Barbarian? It’s worse. Broken steps, going down stairs marble missing steps youll break your neck without your iPhone flashlight. No photos of pitch black Hostel sequel. Yea if you survive and make it into the apartment it’s perfect. I was afraid to leave until it was forever

It's close to the main train station,(only a couple of minutes walking away), we arrived to the hotel reception a couple hours prior to check in time, but the receptionist was kind, let us leave our luggages there and gave us some tips on which cities should we visit, which restaurants to visit etc. The main square (with the elephant statue) is around 15 minutes walking away.

the streets around seemed a little sketchy.

The place was comfortable near the city center. It was an apartment so we were really independent, but close to the main hotel. It was also really close to the central station .

The building was really old and ruined. And the presence of trash always outside the door.

Central Location, quality mattress

The bathroom is too small and very hot, the air condition doesn’t arrive there.
