Large apartment, quiet.

The apartment is in an area that can’t be accessed by car unless you have pre-arranged it. The car’s GPS doesn’t recognize the address because of this.

The location is perfect, everything in Meran is close to hand including a lovely restaurant at the bottom of the road. The kitchen facilities has everything you need and a few basic stock items like olive oil and coffee were waiting for us. A Spar shop is five minutes away as is the chair lift to the nearest mountain range with a delightful and easy walk back into the centre of town. The ice creams are just so refreshingly wonderful. The flat is on the first floor with a flight of steps to the front door, the views from the windows are accurate, it is quiet at night but do take mosquito repellent when sitting out on the balcony. It's a cool flat in the height of the midday heat. Don't miss the Friday morning market at the train station - its amazing.

We stayed during a religious festival, Corpus Christi, and the very nearby church bells are very loud. I didn't mind at all but some of my fellow guests found them intrusive at six and seven o'clock in the morning. Outside of festivals they are quieter. Some written instructions on arrival would have helped, is the washing machine and tumble drier just outside the flat available to use for example? A note saying where the local bakery could be added - Mein Beck - has a gorgeous range of delicious breads and is only 5 mins away - once you've worked out the alley way system. Where do the recycling and rubbish bags go when full? We would recommend adding mirrors to each bedroom, dressing for an evening meant finishing off in front of the only full length mirror hanging in the kitchen. Four adults sharing one shower room / toilet is always a bit of a negotiation but its fine and the shower itself is very good. Larger towels would have been nice. Parking is a bit of a nightmare until you work out whats going on. Next time we will visit by train as we hardly used the car at all during our stay in Meran. Would we stay here again? Yes definitely.
