Great apartments near the old city of Lecce. Cozy and awesome stay at Arete Apartments. Host Paolo was really welcoming and awaited us in Lecce and showed everything and suggested best places for having a meal. He even prepared present for us and our kids :) Superb apartments and we were really satisfied

Perfectly situated for travelling with a car - on the edge with the old town but still has free parking. Spacious, well equiped, very clean, quiet at night. And Paolo is a wonderful host - communicative and careful.

Ideal location, only a minute's walk from the Roman archway leading into the old city with its fascinating architecture, piazzas, streets & lanes, shops & restaurants. Small hire vehicle easily parked on street outside, 15m from the front door; busy to get a space but once in place, ideal, so left there for duration of stay. No parking restrictions on street outside and in adjacent streets. Kept in contact with the owner, Paulo, in days before travelling south to Lecce; he accommodated an earlier check-in at 16:00hrs as opposed to the advertised 18:00hrs. Paulo met me outside on time and gave a very warm, friendly welcome. He clearly explained everything about the property and facilities. Inside, It's is fully modernised and equipped with nice fixtures and fittings. The dining/kitchen area has a good sized dining table and chairs, sofa, kitchen units, cooker and oven and large fridge-freezer. All utensils, dishwater, cutlery, mokka hob top and electric cartridge-style coffee maker there for use. There is a large wall-mounted LCD tv fitted in this area. Being just off-season, Paulo offered me the upstairs double room but I was more than happy to choose the downstairs single bedroom which was more than comfortable for my needs. The room was very quiet, being to the inside portion of the building and had a rear door opening into a small square garden are for anyone wishing to have a smoke (not needed). The bed was very comfortable and I was provided with a tied bale of soft towels of all sizes. The room was well lit with ceiling, bedside and desktop lighting. It also had a very large wardrobe with plenty hangers and hanging space as well as shelf storage. Wall-mounted tv in room. The shower room services both rooms, is nicely modernised, well equipped and immaculately clean. Perfect location for a base to explore historic Lecce.
