Casa Viggiano in the Heart of Amalfi

This is a self check-in room. Owner provided excellent directions and photos for finding the room and the lockbox with our keys. It was a smooth system. This is a clean and quiet room with a nice bed, pillows and extra blankets. Good WiFi. Good air conditioning. Plenty of room for two people. Location is within 75 meters of dozens of shops and restaurants... essentially at the foot of the main tourism street of Amalfi. Also close (250 meters) to the ferry boats and the bus areas. Having a washing machine in the room was very handy for us.

Didn't take too long to run short of hot water. Furniture is dated, but functional. Limited breakfast items. Some mildew on shower walls.

Great, constant communication. Loved that the host provided coffee and a few beverages upon arrival... so helpful when we only just arrived after all the stores closed, due to late trains/buses. Nice to have the microwave and refrigerator.

I suggest some instructions on how to use the wash machine. The "A" setting just meant that the wash machine would go continually. We also missed the clothes line for drying (didn't see it). Finally, wine or other drink glasses would be wonderful to have on hand!

The location is superb and the hosts are exceptional.

Beautiful characteristic accommodation. It’s a very welcoming property with excellent facilities for an extended stay. It’s in the heart of all the Amalfi attractions

The apartment was spacious, clean and nicely furnished. Though there was little natural light, the rooms brightened up when the lights were turned on. The host was kind enough to leave some water, juice and small pastries in the apartment for us to enjoy.

The checkin process took longer than expected as I did not read the detailed instructions sent by the host the day before checkin. I was unable to send photos of our passports on location as there was virtually no cellular signal there with our T-Mobile service. I resolved the issue by walking down the street until I was able to text the host. I was then told to go into the MeMe restaurant to get help from “the boy”, a waiter in the restaurant. He took photos of our passports and communicated with the host. He then led us to the apartment and opened the door for us. Note: the detailed instructions sent by the host should enable you to do a self checkin. Please remember to read them.

Very clean and comfortable in a good location in the centre but with over 100 steps from the Main Street up to the apartment it is a lot with cases. It can be dark on the steps at night (watch out for cat poop on the steps too as there was a lot which is no fault of the property) Anyone staying here might want to check the amalfi porters who will pick up luggage and deliver it from the port. This should have been communicated.

Decoration, cooking facacites. Comfort of beds.

The lack of natural light however I know that can't be helped due to it location. However excellent to block out unwanted light during your sleep.
