Casa Sansevera Lucca

Everything was bright and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was large. The small touches like ingredients for a pasta dinner, a sewing kit, a cart to pick up groceries and a list of recommended restaurants was very much appreciated. It was perfect for our family of 4. I would have stayed here a month. This was the best apartment of our trip so far.

Fantastic location, so easy from the train (and flat!). Up a couple of flights of stairs but no problems. Large space, very clean, and being able to use the washing machine with a sunny space to dry the clothes was great. It’s the little things that make this space a 10 rating - like flyscreens, decent hot water pressure, ingredients for a pasta dinner, and a quiet neighbourhood.

Beautifully decorated and comfortable apartment for the four of us. Had everything we needed and was very easy to settle in. Super close to the train station, and very short wander into Lucca central. Hosts very communicative and met us at the apartment, offering any help needed, and also some food essentials. Lucca itself we loved, and would like to come back to.

A very nice, cosy and extreemly clean appartment. The location is perfect, close to the railway station and the old town.

We stayed at this apartment mid April. Light streamed into the kitchen each morning and the spectacular setting sun could be seen from the two bedrooms in the evenings. The apartment is well equipped and nicely furnished. We found absolutely everything we could want. The train line is close by but we did not hear trains at all. The walk from the station is 70 metres and it took only 10 minutes to be inside the city walls from the apartment. We loved the sights and food of Lucca and also used it as a base for two weeks to tour the area by train. Casa Sansevera became our home and was comfortable from the moment we walked in. It is located on the third floor (counting the ground floor as floor 1) and no lift. We did not find that a problem although I must admit that one of the hosts, John, carried my suitcase up for us. Thanks John! My husband managed his own suitcase and we are not so young. We are grateful to Paola and John for the care they show in preparing and maintaining the apartment and for the lovely welcome. Each day we walked through the wall to Caffe Del Teatro for the best coffee in Lucca before either exploring this lovely town or hopping on a train to visit the region including Pisa, Cinque Terra, Pistoia and Castelnuovo.

Staying in apartments in old buildings is fantastic, but sometimes you need to accept that there will occasionally be a bang, scrape or singing from other apartments. While it did not detract from our comfort I thought I should mention it if you are noise sensitive. We enjoyed living in an Italian community.

Perfect location, only round the corner from the Station and our hosts were waiting for us. We were so near to every thing, no complaints.

As we arrived on Easter Saturday, no supermarkets or grocery shops were open, so no milk for the cuppa

- Excellent location: 2 minute walk from the train station (Via Notollini), approximately 20 minute by train to Pisa and 1h20 to Firenze! 7 minute walk to the city wall to enter Lucca center. It's also extremely quiet, no noise at all from the outside for such an excellent location! - The cleanest appartment we have encountered so far while travelling, the hygiene is outstanding! - The appartment is very tastefully decorated, it truly feels like a "home" away from home. - Wonderful hosts that provided some welcome gifts to make the stay even more pleasant. - A guest book that is filled with a bunch of recent wonderful messages to confirm the above even more.
